The streets of Mandeville town always offer some of the most interesting sights and smells.
Out yasso always festive.
Can always count on Mandeville to bring some sort of excitement or experience, the city truly does not know the meaning of peace.
Both the city and its residents.
Lailah and I were currently walking the streets, heading back home from her doctor's appointment.
She had an annual visit set, dedicated to doing some routine tests and medical procedures.
She wasn't fussy at all for the majority of the appointment, we did however experience a small hiccup when it came time to give her shots.
Mi poor baby bawl eesi...
As we head towards the parking lot where my car was located, I skillfully maneuvered us through the busy sidewalk with Lailah propped up on my hip.
Mi neva have di capacity fi push roun nuh pram.
I was very happy however to finally have a new car.
This was a goal I've had all year, and with this new job at the hotel, I was able to save up my money quickly.
Haffi give thanks to Fada God!
As we entered the parking lot, I noticed a small group of people gathering around a man with a microphone in his hand.
The group was very diverse, with a wide range of people.
In front of him stood another man, who was holding on tight to a video camera.
The conversation within the group seemed to be incredibly lively, I heard a few people let out some expletives, and others either jumped up out of excitement, or ran away letting out laughter.
Ah wah gwaan yasso?
While I was intrigued by what could be happening, I had no intention of getting involved, but I had to pass them as they were situated right in front of my car.
"Murrrrdaaa" one of the young school girls screams out.
A young man beside her grabs onto her arm, his eyes set on the interview while he mutters to her, "Dat cyaa rub out".
The interviewer was locked into the conversation he was having with an older woman, clearly entertained by the answer she was giving him.
I watch as he shifts his eyes off her, his gaze now set on me.
"Wait! Malachi put di camera pon maamz wid her baby" he calls out to the cameraman.
Maamz?
Wid har baby?
