"So, Mr. Ayanokoji, have you had any changes in your emotional state over the past few days?" I ask the boy right in front of me.
His face, an always neutral stance, stood unswayed as I investigate his overall ability.
The Masterpiece of the secret facility known as the Whiteroom. It had been shut down due to recent development of technology. Though no sources of information has been revealed about how it was found out.
Thousands of children are currently in our hands, being monitored to make them deem fit for society. This boy is among them.
The son of one of the owners of the Whiteroom. I personally feel uneasy around him because of his monster outs abilities.
But if we rehabilitate him to a degree that he can live in society, then we could assign him to a willing family to take care of him.
"No" he answered back. Unsurprising. His emotional state has always been lost due to the harsh environment he was raised in.
"Alright then," flipping over the folder and writing something in it, I continue my journey to his unreachable mind.
"Do you have any suicidal thoughts? Self harming and such?"
"No I do not, Doctor Etta."
I see, the information will stay the same as yesterday.
"That's good," I reply, "now I must ask, are you interested in seeing the outside world?" I ask, hoping for an answer that will suit my need.
The dim light has started to take a toll on me as I feel more sleepy. This feels more like an interrogation than a checkup.
The boy stays silent for a couple of seconds and comes up with an answer.
"I am curious about the outside world. Why do you ask?"
"You are going to be set into that wild if we deem you fit. So it is a question that would make sense to ask, no?"
This is not the intended purpose but it may suit his explanation. Our plan for him must not reach him yet.
"That answer is sufficient."
As I continue down the list, we eventually reach a stop. Nothing has changed in his emotional state, but his curiosity has seem to have gone up.
As I stare at my paper, looking for any questions that I might have missed. A ring comes up from my desk signaling me to report to a designated office.
"That's it, Mr. Ayanokoji. You may return to your room."
He nods his head and leaves, closing the door behind him gracefully.
14 huh, a boy at that age should be thinking about his high school career, not stuck by his orders.
One should think about the future, but if the present holds them back, then that future is unattainable.

Entering the front door, I'm gestured towards an empty seat in front of my superior.
Sitting comfortably, our meeting that I have expected commences.
"Has there been any changes in any of your students? Doctor Etta."
"There has" I say as I give him the folder containing all the information I had gathered.
He sits and reads every bit of intel as the clock ticks by ever so slowly.
"They've all changed except one" he finally says.
"Yes, as you read on the file, it's no wonder why."
