Walking through the empty hallways that gave a sense of eeriness to them,I made my way to the cafeteria for my first practice.

(I'm going off my experience with track and field)

I spent most of the school day observing my classmates, as they gathered in their groups chatting about a variety of conflicts.

One was about something called the Drake reveal or whatnot?

Making my way into the cafeteria created an entirely new environment. Many students had claimed spots at tables while discussing with each other. Some were even playing with a soccer ball they brought. I spotted some freshman students, but overall the majority was upperclassmen. But it wasn't surprising as we didn't have to at practice until 3:30.

"Oya~ Mahiru," an upperclassmen girl teased behind me as I took a seat in en empty corner, "I heard your brother is at this school?"

She was talking to a female student, who closely resembled me.

She had brunette hair, sparkling yellowish brown eyes, a desirable body, and cute features on her face. She also wore a red and white ribbon in her hair that fell to her hips and was tied in a ponytail. But overall, her appearance is close to mine.

Coincidences can be freaky

"I know! I haven't met him yet but I will! My mother said he looks just like me, but female."

"His last name should be Ayanokoji, right? You kept yours because you didn't want to change parents in a metaphorical way."

Another person who has the same name as me, it's a large world we live in as they also have a sibling coming to this school...

Wait a second.

"Hello everyone! Take a seat. We're about to get started" a coach announced loudly, giving him full attention.

"Welcome to Advance Nurturing High Schools Track and Field team! We have a bunch of papers we need you to sign but first, I'll tell you some expectations" he narrated as he passed out a large stack of paper.

"First of all, I don't care if you are the best at your event, or if you have something going on everyday, if you're not committed to this team, we're kicking you out. Three unexplained absences will result in you being kicked off the team, alright? There are around 60 of you and we can't keep track of every single athlete here."

(There are around 720 students in my story. In comparison, my school, known for athletics, has double the amount and more with many sports teams. But our track team only had around 150 students. So I'm trying to use a comparison here)

The coach, known as Coach Kirikima, continued on his talk, going from expectations, to rules, and more. The talk took about 30 minutes, but after he finished, he told us to go outside to the track as the next few days, we would be doing time trials.

It was announced we'd do a 30 minute run to get back into condition, do sprints and
throwing tomorrow, jumping and more runs the next day, and finally distance runs on the last as we made our choice.

But I soon realized I had to calculate, as I can't let anyone know my true potential.

The best thing I could do is keep up with the athletes with the best results, as it wouldn't be too strange.

"Hey, we're gonna do a 30 minute run! We'll be running around campus since it's too late to go out of campus today. Follow upperclassmen to know the routes. Seniors, help the Freshman would you? Alright, get rolling."

We dispersed quickly, with everyone stretching before the timer started. I found a decent sized group discussion their pathing, and decided to run with them.
