Today was just another day during class. The birds were chirping, everyone else was conversing in small groups as it was homeroom, and I could simply relax while listening to me musi-

SMACK*

"Woah!—"

I tumbled back in my chair that I was rocking in and landed on the ground. My head was spinning from the impact of the ground and all I could see in front of me was an angry teacher.

"Didn't I tell you not to lean back in your chair?" Chabashira-sensei stated. This was essentially a habit of mine that I picked up and had been warned multiple times not to do so again. But I ignored them since the dopamine release was too satisfactory to give up.

"Itai... You purposefully making me fall back from my chair goes against what you said, you know..."

I stood back up and returned my chair to its original position after arguing with Sensei.

"Kiyotaka-kun, it seems to me you have a death wish with how you've been acting lately" Suzune said from behind me as she was sitting on her desk.

"What do you mean?"

"Literally what I said. Yesterday you tried mixing bleach and vinegar together to make chlorine gas and were about to drink it until I arrived and your excuse was 'I was curious on how it would taste like' like what was that?"

To be honest, it sounded like a good drink.

"Not to mention your sleeping schedule and eating habits" she added; her voice having more accent to it. She shifted uncomfortably and continued her barrage. "Jeez, what am I going to do with you Kiyotaka..."

To my luck, the bell rang and class began which allowed me to escape back to my seat.

After school track practice had started an hour ago and I was running by myself today. It was intriguing how fast fall had arrived as all the leaves of each and every tree had turned red, yellow, orange and brown as they slowly fell apart at the pace of an hourglass.

I quickly took a corner where not many runners came because of its dull scenery. It was just a forested area but they seem to operate more efficiently with moving scenery that is as lively as a party.

Each step I took as I jogged along the dirt path made a crisp sound along with the dirt spewing behind my feet. Every step resonated loudly.

Each step.

The silence itself made it much more loud than when I'm running with a group.
