"What?"

You are amazing.

"No, I'm Jane." And with this the daylight peeked through the crappy curtains and Calum vanished. Silently, Jane hopes for the day to pass quickly.

...

"Hey, there," someone spoke from behind Jane.

"Hey?" Jane responded, unsure of herself.

"Ha, why are you questioning your greeting?"

"I wasn't sure if you were talking to me. ..." She nervously looked down at her feet. This boy was quite attractive. He had short brown hair styled upwards and was wearing a white faded shirt with black skinny jeans.

"Oh, ha ha, I'm new to this camp."

"Makes sense."

"How so?"

"Nobody talks to me. Like ever."

"Well, that's not true anymore, huh?"

"I guess."

Jane enjoyed talking to this boy, whose name -after a few minutes she found out- was Trent. He was fun to be around and made her feel less alone. He was quite funny and relatable. Butterflies arose in her stomach every time he laughed and she couldn't understand why.

Later, that night she found herself missing her second day at camp. She sat at the edge of the bed thinking about what's next to come.

Hey.

Startled, Jane jumped from her spot on the bed.

Are you O.K.? I didn't mean to scare you! I just, I'm sorry. I broke my promise. Shit, I'm sorry.

"You're fine. I was just deep in thought, I kind of scared myself."

What were you thinking of?

"I, uh, think I made a new friend."

Really? What's her name?

"His name," Jane corrected.

Oh.

"His name is Trent, and he's is so amazing. I can relate to him in so many ways and I just, I don't know. I love being around him and I barely know him. ... Is that weird?" Nobody responded. Jane looked around and saw the sun coming through again. She didn't realize she spoke for hours and hours until the sun came back up. And little did she know that Calum left in the middle of the night.
