For several weeks after, Jane did't see Calum. She had become closer to Trent and showed no care towards the monsters. She still could not sleep at night, in fear something may happen.

When it was time to go back home, she looked back and tried to remember the plus of coming here once more but not once did she think of Calum, until she was on her own bed facing the monsters again.

She then thought about last years camp and compared this one to the other. Last year she had Calum and this year she doesn't.

She suddenly began losing her breath and felt the monsters closing in on her. She had't felt this way since she first became afraid of the dark. When her parents left her. ...

Sobs came out of her mouth and she couldn't control herself. Soon, she found herself begging for Calum.

She imagined him holding her tightly and whispering that it was going to be O.K. She remembered closing her eyes briefly and thinking of it all going away and when it didn't she could count on Calum to be there.

"Promise me you'll never leave?"

I promise.

"Even, when I leave this shitty camp, will you still be with me?"

Depends, if you want me there.

"I need you everywhere."

She was afraid. She realized her biggest fear. Being left alone in the darkness. The monsters were certainly not the best of company but if they ever did leaved her she'd be even more afraid of the darkness.

She'd hate being left alone in a place of agony. Sure, she was alone most of her lifetime, but was it really worth it?

She shut her eyes tightly and try to see if Calum would be back.

Once she opened them, all she saw was pure darkness. There were no monsters, just a vast place of black.

She let out a blood curling scream of terror and dropped to the floor.
