Fyodor climbed the steps of the schools' dormitory, his plum hair haloed by the blinding sunlight that streamed in through the windows. Nikolai hadn't talked to him since yesterday, but he tried not to take it to heart. Right now, Fyodor wanted nothing more than to collapse into bed. But he froze as he found himself in front of Nikolai's door.

"I really shouldn't..." He mumbled to himself, though moments later his hand was softly knocking at the door. Was he always so weak to temptation? He didn't have time to think of the answer, as the door opened revealing a much cleaner looking Nikolai. "Fedya..." Fyodor struggled to make eye contact with him. "I-" "All is forgiven." Nikolai interrupted. "Your timing couldn't be better actually. Please, come in!"

"I don't really have time to- Nikolai!" Fyodor exclaimed as the white haired boy grabbed his hand, pulling him into his room. He stumbled over a rug before letting out a sigh of defeat. "All right then, you win." This earned a smile from Nikolai.

Un-like Fyodor's room, Nikolai's was highly decorated. Mainly with different types of bird feathers he had collected over the years, as well as various drawings. The only other thing of note was his clown doll collection, which always served to creep Fyodor out a considerable amount.

"So, why exactly did you drag me in here?" Fyodor questioned, seating himself in a rather comfortable chair. "I was bored." Nikolai answered plainly. "When are you not?" Fyodor giggled in return, causing the other boy to pout. "Dos-kun is so mean to me! But...I suppose you're right. Things just aren't as fun without you."

Fyodor shook his head. "You could spend more time with me if you'd just-" "Come to class. Yeah yeah I know. It's not like you need to go either, you're easily as smart as me if not more so. It's a waste of time." "Just keeping up appearances Kolya." Fyodor stated. Nikolai scoffed as he rolled his eyes.

"I should really be going, Ivan needs to be fed." Fyodor got up from the chair. "I still can't believe the school let you keep that stupid rat." Nikolai huffed, obviously bitter of that fact. "Plenty of the other students have pets Nikolai, we just keep them contained." "Atlas was a bird Fedya, he was meant to be free! Not locked up in a cage!" Fyodor didn't respond to that, figuring it best to drop the subject. He began to walk towards the door, but Nikolai stopped him. "What now Kolya?" He asked impatiently. "I just need you to promise me you'll do something for me, even if it sounds really really weird and creepy." Fyodor gave him a worried look. "No promises." "Okay fine! I need you to leave your door unlocked tonight."

 "What."

Later that night as Fyodor lay in bed, he found himself thinking about what Nikolai had said. What reason could he possible have to ask such a ridiculous question? He couldn't find an answer. Nikolai wasn't the type of person to cause him harm, at least... not intentionally. But that was exactly what worried him. After a few minutes of mulling it over Fyodor climbed (still somewhat reluctantly) out of bed and unlocked his door. Just in case.

The next time Fyodor opened his eyes it wasn't to the sound of his alarm, instead he saw Nikolai, standing casually at the edge of his bed. "Nikolai what the f-" He stopped himself from swearing, taking a deep breath to settle his nerves. He didn't know what he expected. "What in the world do you want? It's almost," Fyodor glanced at the clock. "It's almost five in the morning!" He hissed. "I'm aware." Nikolai grinned mischievously. He climbed onto Fyodor's bed and began to drag him out. "Let's go!"
