It was the night before Golden Week - an entire week for the volleyball team to dedicate to training. It was the night before, and you still had not told your mother.
You sat next to her on the couch as she lounged about, watching TV. It was fortunate for you that she wasn't suddenly ripped away by another phone call, but you had no idea when that would happen next so you had to ask now.
You fidgeted your thumbs as your hands rested on your lap. There was an uneasy feeling in your chest and it made you think hard.
'Is this what nervousness feels like...? It's been a while.'
"What's wrong, sweetheart?" You were promptly taken out of your thoughts at the sound of your mother's voice. Gazing up at her, you noticed how she eyed you wearily, glancing down at your fidgeting fingers. "You seem nervous. Is something bothering you?"
'Now or never.'
"Uhm, okaa-san, there's something I have to tell you." You began, getting up from your seat and heading towards your bag. You dug around through it before pulling out a sheet of paper. "The student council has a week-long activity. I'll be gone for the duration of that time." As you spoke, you handed your mother the sheet of paper and she inspected it carefully.
You found yourself gulping as you eyed her. The paper was a forged permission slip created by none other than Takeda. He gave it to you to give to your mother and even told you the story to tell her.
"And you have to be there?" Your mother raised a brow as she continued to read through the details on the page.
You nodded your head in an instant, "As the president, I am required to be present." Your mother hummed before pointing towards the side desk. You grabbed a pen for her and she quickly signed her signature, permitting you to be at the activity.
