The rest of the week could not have gone by any slower for Colby. He was actually extremely busy, pumping out constant content for his personal youtube channel, and all of his social media accounts. He also had a lot of editing and brand deals to look for. The life of an influencer seemed luxurious from afar, but for Colby it was anything but. Especially this week, where everything took twice as long. When Friday night finally hit, Colby was ecstatic.
"Colby, come on man. You can't stay home on a Friday night." Sam whined, trying to convince Colby to go out with him, Jake and Corey. "All of the boys are going, we have a table reserved for us, it will be fun!" Colby chuckled.
"Really, I'm okay Sam. I just want to go to sleep." So the morning will come even quicker. "I've just been tired all week." Sam sighed.
"There will be girls there..." Sam wiggled his eyebrows. "And I know Leah was especially excited when Jake told her you would be there." Colby had the urge to lash out at Sam, a feeling of disloyalty in his stomach, clawing at his insides. He was not used to this feeling, Colby hadn't had any girl to feel loyal to in a long time.
"I'll go out for a bit." Colby sighed, the boys cheering as he stood up, throwing on a t-shirt and getting into the car that picked them up. Sam was being truthful when he said there was a table reserved for them, the leather booth in the middle of the dance floor, a velvet rope blocking it off from the rest of the club. There were four girls that were already sitting there, good friends with Corey.
"Hi, I'm Leah. You must be Colby." She giggled, Colby taking in her appearance. She was pretty, there was no doubt. She had bright hair that the light practically reflected off of, makeup painted on and heavy eyeliner drawn onto her eyes. She was wearing a small pink bandage dress that hugged her curves tightly.
"Nice to meet you, Leah." Colby introduced himself as the pair began chatting, talking about themselves and how they each knew Corey. He tried to give Leah his full attention, but his mind kept wandering to where he truly wanted to be. About an hour being at the club he noticed that all three pairs had begun to make out, each girl in a different position on their lap. Leah dragged her hand on Colby's thigh, batting her eyelashes. She moved closer to Colby, puckering her lips. Colby quickly excused himself, getting up from the couch. Leah looked mad, beginning to yell at Corey as all of the people turned to look at her.
Colby felt embarrassed now, Sam and Corey looking over at him like there was something wrong with him. Colby was usually up for a good time, and it seemed that Leah expected something more from him. He just felt wrong about it. Colby left the club hastily, hailing a cab before anyone could catch up with him and storming into the house, slamming his bedroom door and quickly falling asleep.
He woke up the next morning, enjoying the first seconds of forgetfulness before last night flooded back into his mind, dragging his hands down his face as he groaned loudly. He knew he was going to have to face the wrath of his roommates as he went downstairs.
The four of them were already up when he clambered down the stairs, still adjusting to the bright sunlight shining through the windows. The roommates looked at each other a few times, before saying nothing, to Colby's surprise. The house acted normally, and the day went by smoothly, the time slowly approaching night as the boys got in the car and headed back to the apartments.
