The drive there was longer this time, the traffic only making Colby's anticipation build even more. "I don't know why your so excited to see this room, you like the furniture this much?" Sam joked, hands on the wheel.
"Trust me, there's something special about her-it, I mean it." He stumbled over his words nervously as Sam brushed it off, chuckling to himself slightly.
"Whatever man, I won't judge if you're into furniture." Sam remarked as the pair delved into friendly bickering the rest of the ride, eventually parking in front of the apartment building. It felt good for Colby to be back, which was weird considering the entire place was haunted.
"Welcome back! Today we have returned to the apartments, hopefully checking out another floor this time." Sam whipped out the camera. "We're still only at one camera, as the other one is currently being repaired, so it will just be me filming, no Colby this time." He flipped onto Colby who pouted at the camera. "Who needs him anyways?" Colby scoffed.
"Please, you know they love me more than you!" He joked.
"I actually have a surprise for Colby, I found a list of names of who lived in each apartment, so now maybe we can call them by their names, see if it helps a bit-" Sam barely finished his sentence before Colby snatched the paper out of his hands, his eyes speedily scanning the page for apartment seventeen.
There is was, in all it's glory, her name. Cora, Cora Hawthorne. It was beautiful and elegant, just like he expected her to be. "Dude, someone is excited, let's get to work!" Sam ran up the stairs, his voice trailing off as he spoke to the camera. Colby nervously climbed the stairs, afraid of what he was going to see when he arrived in the room. Would the woman be standing there, just like in his dream? How would he know if what happened last time really existed?
"I'm back." Colby entered into the apartment as he ran his hand against the cold white walls. "I know you missed me, don't be shy." He hummed, approaching the bedroom slowly, each step echoing in the silence. He turned the corner quickly, a little disappointed that she wasn't there. Even if he couldn't see anything, he knew something was here. Something loud creaked in the other room as he jumped loudly, nervously going to investigate in the living room. He remembered leaving the window open, a puddle of water now underneath the window.
He scolded himself mentally, shaking his head as he shut the latch, pulling the yellow curtains shut as he abruptly turned around, falling to the floor and hitting his head, his vision engulfed with darkness.
