As Tharn drove, Phayu apologised again. "Don't worry about it Phayu, Tharn has a habit of over exaggerating, especially when it comes to Rain. It's just that, we love our son very much and he is still very young, so we worry," Type said, turning around and looking at Phayu. What he saw made him smile. His son was still clinging to his mate, looking tiny shrouded in his arms. And inspite of his size and clear strength, it was obvious how gentle Phayu was being with their son. He glanced at his husband. Knowing what their son was, Type was happy that he would have a protective mate. And from what Pakin had told them, they had understood that Phayu was a force to reckon with. Plus, it didn't hurt that they knew Phayu's parents. Although they were concerned as to why Pakin and Chai had said that the four of them had no family, when clearly all their family was alive and well.

"Are the others also following us Khun?" Phayu asked. "Please Phayu, drop the formalities. We are Rain's Dad and Pa, and we would like it if you call us the same," Type said. "He can call me Khun," Tharn said caustically. "Ow! Ai'Type!" he added, when Type punched him on his bicep. "If I say he will call us Dad and Pa, then that's what he will call us," Type hissed under his breath. Tharn was too scared of his husband to utter a word otherwise. Phayu watched the interaction with a small, hidden smile. It was pretty obvious from whom his mate got his feisty nature. His mate! Phayu tried to wrap his head around the word. Draugs were precious, more than all the wealth in the world, and his was even more special. His need to protect had always been great, but now with this, the predator inside him prowled with an almost uncanny intensity that scared even him. He was not used to this passion flaring inside him as the scent of lavender and chocolate permeated his senses.

"They are. We all live on the same estate. When the four of them were born, and we found their special characteristic, Pakin suggested that we all move to the same place, with some of the best warriors and with extreme security measures in place. They were warriors of old, but they had returned to their country after serving elsewhere, and we felt that it was only fitting that the old took care of the new," Type said. It was clear Tharn was not willing to talk to Phayu quite yet. "But if there were so many safety measures in place, how did Rain and his friends get kidnapped?" Phayu asked, a bit surprised. If Pakin and Chai had put the security in place, it would be nothing less than state of the art. Then how did this happen? "We were betrayed by one of our own, someone we trusted beyond measure," Tharn said, his mouth tightening. It was clear that his anger was just on this side of controlled.

Phayu was livid. For him, trust stood on the same pedestal as love. And while he had not really found love quite yet, trust was his driving force. He knew he had to trust his mate's parents, and he would, but he would take care of the little one's protection. And he said as much to Tharn and Type. "Of course Phayu, it is your right, and we are no one to stop you. We just hope that you can allow us to be in his life from time to time," Type said. Phayu was shocked. "That's not what I meant Khun Type," his voice betraying his loss of composure. "I don't plan to take Rain away from you. I just meant that if you could let me know before he went out anywhere, I would be the one to protect him. He has a long way to go, and he needs his parents more than his mate as of now. I just request you to trust me in taking care of him," Phayu said, as humbly as possible.

Tharn and Type looked at each other, pleasantly surprised by the young vampire in front of them. They had walked the earth a long time, and had seen how unbelievably strong the need between mates could be, and they had been through that part in their lives. In fact, even today, they felt the same desires that drove them from their first meeting almost 700 years ago. So, it shocked them that Phayu was ready to wait for their son, and he went up a hundred times in the esteem. They looked at each other, the look of relief almost identical on their faces. Rain had not yet woken up since he had snuggled into Phayu after being rescued, and when Phayu tried to put him down, he refused and clung more. Finally, Phayu had just sat with him all wrapped around him. They were also impressed with the amount of patience Phayu was showing towards their son.
