"While not unexpected, I did not think that they would make a move this soon," Win said. "They were rattled by our visit," Porche said. "Well, it's a good thing. They thought they could take us by surprise, but we manged to get one up on them," Charn said. "Don't be so sure yet. They had Lycans," Min dropped the bomb into the room. "What the actual fuck?" Fiat said, echoing the sentiments of most of the people in the room. "If our babies hadn't told us, we would have mostly been unprepared," White said. Everyone looked en masse at the fledgelings. "Is that why you took them with you? It was not for your protection?" Leo asked. Sky shook his head. "It was for yours," Pharm said. "We knew Dad and Pa could take them on," Team said. "And Team and Rain added fire to the weapons," Sky said.
"What does this mean for us?" Tharn asked. "This means that if not for our babies, we would have our asses handed to us on a platter!" Type said, snorting. "This also means that you guys are not safe in the compound," Dean said. "What do you suggest? We move in here?" Bun asked sarcastically. "I don't see why not? There is more than enough space here, plus, if we are going up against the Council, we need to train. Together," Win said. "We won't hide," Vegas said, his voice tight with anger. "We don't expect you to. But Dad, we can't keep engaging with them. I know we have a plan in place, and we need to pick our battleground," Phayu said, leaning forward. "Phayu is right. Plus we can use this time to figure out our own strengths and shore up our weaknesses," Pete said, putting his hand on his husband's arm.
"But first a visit to the Council is much required," Pai said, his eyes hard. "Makes sense," Charn said. "They are expecting us to be dead, with the sheer numbers they sent to annihilate us. We should let them know otherwise," Tan said, his smile holding retribution over the ages. "Not all of us together," White said. "Obviously not," Fiat said. "But Not Uncle Tae and Uncle Min," Rain said. Everyone looked at him. "They were the reason the tides turned today. The Council must not find out the Lycan ancestry," Sky said. "How did that slip past them though?" Sean asked. "Mainly because, unlike today, where we have an entire process before turning our mates, and have to register everything about them for the Council records, those days, it would have been fairly easier. You find your mate, and you convert them, that's all there was to it," Dean said. "And once Pa turned, no one cared who they were before," Team added thoughtfully.
"You know, what these guys need are weapons that can harness lightning," Rain said, looking thoughtfully at the elders training. It had been three weeks since the attack. They had been training to fight and also deliberating who would visit the Council. Vegas and Phayu had been ruled out, because the Council would probably have a collective heart attack if the two of them walked in. Tae and Min were out of the question too, as were Sean and White, because of their unique abilities. Pai felt that the previous team who had gone in was the best choice, but Kinn was not comfortable with sending Porche and Pai into the line of fire again and Tinn felt the same about Charn and Win. "What do you mean?" Sky asked, as the four of them stood inside the house and watched them training through the glass. "Bringing lightning down with one hand and then fighting with the other, it was not easy. We were sharing the battle with our mates, and you all saw it happen," Rain said. "Rain is not wrong. And we need to figure out fire as well," Team said.
