No one's POV:
The night of the dinner party had finally arrived. Weirdly enough, the host seemed more excited than the people the party was made for.
"YOU ARE SUCH A FUCKING CHEATER!!" Keigo shouts. "SUCK MY DICK, JACKASS!" Spinner responds. "Why are we here again?" Dabi mutters. "We're getting married, remember?" Tomura answers, sipping his wine.
Tomura couldn't help but wish Himiko was here. She would love this. The chaos and violent board games. He started getting pissed off again. He should have invited her, regardless of what Dabi wants.
"What exactly is happening?" Tamaki asks. "Absolutely no one knows," Dabi says. He turns to his fiance waiting for a snarky remark. Tomura doesn't even glance at him. "Are you okay love?" He just nods. Everyone seems fairly invested in their LIFE board game so no one would know if they slipped out for a bit, right?
Dabi grabs his wrist and pulls him into the kitchen. "Hey, what's wrong?" He shakes his head. "Nothing. I'm okay," Tomura states. "Come on, you said you wouldn't lie." Tomura glares at him for the audacity for calling him out for lying. Before he can stop himself he snaps, "Yeah, so did you." Dabi gives him a confused look. "What'd you mean?"
"When were you going to tell me about Miko?"
Dabi go deadly still. "What?" It's barely a whisper. Tomura didn't want to be mad, he didn't want to be disappointed but he was. "When were you going to fucking tell me about Himiko." Dabi reaches for him but he pushes his hand away. "Don't touch me." He sounded tired, exhausted, because of Dabi. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything. Tell Rumi I'm going home."
Tomura tries to walk past him but Dabi grabs his arms, loosely enough so he doesn't feel trapped. So he could pull away if he wanted. "Let's just talk about it." Which is what they should have done from the beginning. "Why didn't you tell me about Himiko?" He asked for the third time. "Why didn't you tell me about your mom?" It was a low blow and Dabi knew it the second Tomura started to tear up. "Hana told you," he whispers. "Why didn't you tell me?" Dabi asks softly.
"It wasn't exactly on my mind."
Dabi lets him go. They stood in front of each other, quiet. Tomura broke the silence. "I just wanna know what I did to make you not trust me," he mumbles. Dabi felt his heart crack at the words. "Tomura no." He cups the younger's face forcing him to look up at him. "It's not because I didn't trust you. I was scared it would bring up memories from the hospital. I didn't want to trigger anything." Tomura's face falls.
What did he say? He told him the truth why did he still look like he was going to cry?
"I'm the same person I was at the hospital. I've grown and I-I've changed. Give me a little credit Dabi," he let out a soft sob. "Do you think I haven't made progress?" Dabi instantly pulls Toumra to his chest and strokes his hair. "Baby of course I think you've made progress. I'm so sorry, you're right, I should have given you credit. You're doing so amazing, this time last year the thought of being in this house with so many people would have sent you into a panic attack. I'm very proud of you and I'm sorry I don't say as often as I should."
He softly holds his shoulders and pushes him away. "We're gonna fix this, okay?" He uses his thumbs to wipe his tears. "I'm changing my shift to the mornings. We'll both take Shoto to school and we'll have more time together. You'll get more sleep and-"
"Okay."
Tomura didn't need to hear anything else. He wanted that time with Dabi. He holds Dabi's palm against his face. "Do you want to talk about your mom now or later," Dabi whispers. "Later," he mumbles in response. "Do you want to stay or go home?" Tomura takes a second to think about. "I wanna stay," he answers. Dabi kisses his forehead. "I love you," he whispers against his hair. "I love you too. So, so damn much."
