"How about another piece? Something slower perhaps? How about Serenade by Schubert?"

"Sure."

Surely this delightful piece couldn't sound bad, He thought.

Oh boy, was he wrong. As they began playing, this sounded like a chaos, this was pure awful!

After a few moments, Mei stopped playing and got up to stop the metronome.

"Im sorry, I dont think this sounds quite good."

"Yeah, you seriously can't keep up!"

Mei was taken aback. He thought Mei was the one causing this ruckus?. This guy had no shame..

"Pardon?"

Kameo scoffed.
"Youre not good at accompanying me, sorry, I have to be honest."

".. I think its something about your playing, Williams, its just that your viol-"

"Oh please, not a word insulting me and my violin! Do you even know what youre talking about? Youre the one that sounds ridiculous here, if you hadnt stopped, I wouldve stopped you eventually."

"I think youre misunderstanding me, I dont mean any harm, this is all constructiv-"

"Yeah right! You think youre such a good pianist? I bet you havent even won a single competition. Seriously, what was William thinking even suggesting you?."

Oh.. that was..

"I hope you really know who I am, Ive won several competitions in Japan and Australia! I have more awards then you'll ever see in your life."

.. William was right.. this guy was not nice..

"What, are you gonna suggest that we play Jingle Bells, next?"

Mei exhaled as he closed the keylid.

"Sorry, I dont think we will play anything next."

Kameo was dumbfounded. What..? Was xe seriously leaving?. Hey, hey.. come on now.. why was this guy leaving? Okay, maybe he had gone a bit too far with his words, if this guy walked out of that door now, he was done for at his next competition. After the numerous quitting accompanists, he couldnt lose another one.

---

"Are you.. leaving?" Kameo looked shocked.

Mei nodded. "Im afraid yes, I wish you luck with your competitions and future career, though."

Kameo put his violin down. No, no! He couldnt let him leave.

"You cant leave, we haven't tried the mandatory piece for the next competition."

Mei grabbed his bag.

"I dont think we are compatible, I dont think we should play together, Williams."

As Mei was putting on his coat, Kameo spoke.

"F..fine! Whatever, youre an awful pianist anyways!."

Mei stopped in his tracks.

"Im glad that youre leaving right now, actually! I wouldnt want someone like you accompanying me!."

Mei smiled to himself, as he grabbed the door handle.

"Thats right, you dont deserve to be accompanied, not even by an awful pianist like myself."

He walked out, shutting the door quietly behind him.

He just stood there, in the studio, alone, completely by himself.. all alone.. there it went, his last chance. He had blown it all up, just like all the other times..
