He sighed heavily as he began walking towards the elevator, those 9 floors of stairs he had gone up with lots of passion now felt like a heavy obstacle in front of him,  after all, he was rather drained of all the art he had taken in within the past hour or so. He pressed the button to call the elevator, he waited... waited...

"ugh.. seriously?! 'out of order, busy'?! And the other one is nowhere near my floor!.. talk about timing."

He walked back towards those stairs with an irritated expression and began jolting down, almost tripping in the process. He groaned, had that stupid violinist put some sort of hex on him?! why was his day tumbling down like some domino stones now?

He fixed up his clothing with quick, frustrated manners as he paused. What was that sound?.. a Cello, perhaps?

He decided to stop out of instinct on that floor and walked towards where the sound came from. it came from a room, a sign that said "Sanche's Cello Concert" dated tomorrow. Mei's interest was piqued now, for sure. He hadn't heard a cello sound so good in ages that this almost felt like a cool breeze on a hot summer day. With careful steps, he walked inside.

He gasped slightly as he saw the source of the sound. Stood on the stage, a rather short person with a magnificent-sounding Cello. Mei smiled as he watched the cellist almost dance with their instrument, They really knew how to tame that beast, huh?

After the piece was done, the cellist opened her eyes to see Mei, who was clapping. She giggled as she bowed.

"Fantastic, truly! You really know how to play that thing!"

"Why thank you, I'm flattered." The brunette responded as she placed the cello down and walked down the stage.

"So, you're the one holding the concert tomorrow, I assume?"

They nodded.

"That's right, that'll be, my first ever concert!"

Mei chuckled.

"And you've got a really nice name! Sanche, huh?"

Sanche paused as she looked away.

"Thats.. yes, thats right. I'm Sanche. Sanche Hirano, nice to meet you... uh."

Mei chuckled again, holding his hand front for a handshake.

"Mei Zhen Hai. but I prefer to be called Mei, I feel its more convenient."

Sanche smiled as she took Meis hand.

"Well, very nice to meet you then, Mei.. You're also a musician, I assume?"

"That would be a correct assumption indeed. I am a pianist!"

Sanche seemed to be rather impressed.

"A pianist, you say? Do you also take role as an accompanist?"

Mei sighed, remembering his awful early encounter with that role.

"Well, yes. But I dont do them if I'm not comfortable with the person I'm accompanying."

Sanche crossed her arms

"..isnt that to be expected, though?"

"..Well.. yes, but lets say that um.. I dont do them depending on status or proximity, if thats the right word."

Sanche nodded.

"I understand."

Mei tilted his head in a curious manner.

"Why'd you ask, do you need one?"

Sanche seemed to frown a bit as she sighed. oh no, was this something he wasnt supposed to ask?.
