"Are you ready!" Victor called from the door as Yuri got his last second packing done. Makkachin and Potya were actually going with them, both cat and dog seemed pretty excited to be leaving the house. They would then be packed up for their flight to Japan, so Victor and Yuri had packed not for three days but nearly three weeks.
"Did you empty the fridge?" Yuri called from the bathroom.
"Yes, everything in the Fridge went with Mila and the hockey team," Victor called, "And anything else that could go bad while we're gone, now come on!"
"I'm coming," Yuri called and rushed forwards, "Did you tell the office we'll be gone?"
"Yes, and I paid the bills in advance, and turned off the stove and unplugged everything, now would you breathe? Mila will be in and out to look after the place anyways," Victor chuckled and ruffled his hair, "Car is packed, gets Potya's leash and let's go."
"Okay," Yuri breathed and the two of them left, pets in hand as they checked to make sure they had keys, wallets and passports for later. With everything set and ready they settled into the car and were off.
"I can't believe you got this stupid pink car," Yuri said when they got on to the open road, "It's so extra."
"I know, it's amazing," Victor laughed and Yuri rolled his eyes as Potya made herself comfortable on his lap. Makkachin was in the back, lounging on the seats as they drove.
"Who's the sucker driving it back home?" Yuri asked and Victor giggled manically. "Victor?"
"I asked Yakov to drive it back," Victor giggled and Yuri burst out laughing, "But he absolutely refused to do it so Lilia offered to do it. The look on his face was enough though, I swear."
"Are you trying to put Yakov in his grave?" Yuri asked, covering his mouth to hide the smile.
"No! Of course not," Victor cackler, "I never got to give the man grief when I was young, so now I'm just catching up on lost time."
"I'm telling on you," Yuri snorted and Victor shrugged. Yakov would give him an earful about it later but for now, Yuri and Victor were just a couple of brothers on the open road.
"Hey, tell me about Otabek," Victor said and watched a soft blush colour Yuri's cheeks.
"We met at one of Yakov's camps, I didn't even know he existed but he noticed and remembered me. I thought it was creepy, but he said I inspired him or some shit. We became pretty tight after that." Yuri said and looked up at Victor "Did you know they were calling me the Fairy of Russia because of your stupid Agape routine?"
"Nothing wrong with that," Victor said "Have you ever read up on the Fea Folk?"
"No," Yuri wrinkled his nose, "Why would I read up on the girly bullshit, do I look like Georgie?"
Victor laughed and shook his head before he started to explain some of the creatures he read about when he was healing. He spoke about the Fea in Gaelic mythology and what kinds of creatures roamed the Isles. There were things that would eat men alive, beauties that seduced and the creatures that stole babes from the cribs to replace them with their own.
"Dark," Yuri commented, "What kind of Fairy am I then?"
"A nasty one," Victor winked and Yuri huffed with a grin. They moved away from folklore and trickster fairies, going back to Otabek and how he and Yuri became quick friends after driving around on his bike.
"It was a good day," Yuri sighed, "He saved me from getting mauled and now I have a friend."
"You need more of those," Victor said, and smiled when he saw the blush become darker around Yuri's ears and wondered how hard he could poke the Tiger. "Yura...do you like him?"
