The street, on the way to Mizuki's house.
Mizuki's POV:
I finally finished today's shift! I took a long time at work today, probably because of those customers who had trouble with stuff. They're always a pain to deal with. Oh well, at least I'm getting paid next week!
I continued walking down the street and through the cold breeze. While I was walking, I stumbled upon a familiar-looking house. I stopped to get a closer look, and to my surprise, it was no other than the Shinonome household.
For some reason I suddenly found myself standing in front of their front door.
Wait. How the fuck did I get here?*ding dong*
And before I knew it my hand already touched the doorbell.
NO SERIOUSLY. WHAT THE FUCK?!! HOW—WHEN DID I!!!???— *door opens*
Shit. The door opened.
Wait.
THE DOOR OPENED??!!"Hello— oh! Akiyama-san?" A voice said from the other side. It was Ena's mom. "H-hello.." I said, sounding confused. I probably looked confused as well. "Hello and good afternoon. Do you need anything?" she asked.
To be honest, I wish I knew.
BUT ACTUALLY. WHY THE HELL AM I HERE??? I CAN'T JUST TELL HER THAT I DON'T KNOW! I HAVE TO THINK OF SOMETHING..!
C'MON ME, THINK!!!Oh!
That's right...Ena!!
But if I say that then I actually have to—...You know what? Maybe It's time I should speak with her. I need to talk to her. This might be my only chance anyway. And if I don't then she might...—No, don't think about it. That won't happen, right?
"Uhm....Sorry for showing up unexpectedly, but...I—...I'm here for Ena." I said, somehow managing to keep a straight face despite stuttering a bit while I spoke. "Oh, I see...Please come in then!" She greeted me and let me inside the house with a smile, and I thanked her as I anxiously walked into the house. The whole house was quiet. Not a single sound. It's almost as if there wasn't even anyone living here.
Usually, when I come here, I would hear the racket of Ena and 'Lil bro when I come in, and it's noisy. But now, the only thing I can hear is the soft sound of silence. It was weird. And I wasn't used to it. I didn't like it. But I had no choice but to endure it.
I sat on their orange couch as Ena's mom headed to the kitchen and asked, "Did you eat lunch yet, are you hungry?" Funny thing she asked, because my tummy was rumbling right after she spoke.
"Sounds like you are." She laughed. I laughed as well and said, "Yeah, I didn't have time to eat breakfast."
"If you want anything, we only have leftovers from yesterday." She said as she pulled out a container from the fridge and showed it to me. "Here. Is this good enough?" She asked.
"Woah, that's a lot! But yeah, It's enough, thanks!"
"You're welcome," She smiled and then looked at her wrist, she had that new fancy watch people were talking about. "Oh, look at the time! I should be leaving for work now. You're staying here, yes?" She asked. I only nodded in reply. "Okay then. Make yourself at home." She said, then she walked to Ena's room, and told her telling her she was leaving for work and stuff.
