Reina's POV

"Stop shitting in the yard Hunter!" I yelled at the small dog. She glanced at me and started running around in the backyard.

"Seems like someone's having a rough morning" I heard someone whisper in my ear as they wrapped their arms around my waist.

"Jack you scared the shit out of me" I whispered while turning my body to face him.

"Good morning" he chuckled before kissing me and opening the door to let Hunter in. She went up to his leg and started humping it.

"Bad dog!" Jack yelled and put her back outside.

"I guess you really do get all the bitches" I winked.

I heard the doorbell ring and before Madison opened it I ran to the door, instantly regretting it.

"What do you want Nate?" I sighed, leaning against the door frame.

"I wanna talk. I'm sorry about everything and I know I've been MIA for the past couple of days but as soon as I heard you were in the hospital I took the first flight from Omaha here to make sure you're okay." Nate rambled.

"If Jack sees you he'll be livid."

"I know, but i gotta let my lil mama know how much I care about her."

"Ugh fine" i sighed and stepped outside, onto the porch.

We stood in silence for a few minutes, me just staring at the ground and Nate staring at me. It was the most uncomfortable silence I'd ever experienced.

"Please talk to me" Nate said while walking closer to me.

"Wha-what do you want me to say?" I responded while stepping back. After a few seconds of silence I couldn't take it anymore. "You know, what irritated me the most in that entire situation was the fact that I wasn't feeling humiliated, annoyed, or even fooled. Betrayal was what I felt, my heart broken not only by a guy I was in love with, but also by, as I once believed, a true friend."

"I'm sorry. Really, all I know is that I'm in love with you. Please forgive me" Nate begged.

"I give up. I thought you were different. Funny how fast things changed."

"I'm sorry I couldn't make you happy" Nate said, tears streaming down his face. "I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you and I'm sorry I'm the problem that's been making your life a living hell. I'm sorry "

"Nate?" Jack asked angrily while stepping outside of the house "what the hell are you doing here?"

"Jack wait, let me explain" I interrupted.

"Reina get inside" Jack commanded, staring at Nate.

"No you have to listen to me" I replied.

Jack pulled out something from behind his back and my eyes widened upon realization of what it was, a gun.

Time seemed to slow down as the bullet left the barrel it had originally been placed in and sunk itself right into Nate's chest. He collapsed upon impact.

Not one, but three bullets were fired and all hit the exact same spot. I ran to Nate who was laying in a pool of his own blood in the driveway. His once white shirt stained with red.

"Nate, please don't leave me!" I yelled while resting his head on my lap. Tears streamed down my face as I tried desperately to stop the bleeding by putting my hands on the open wound. I could see and feel his blood on my hands as I pushed harder.

"Reina please-" Jack began to say while attempting to take me away from Nate.

"Leave me alone you murder! I hate you" I yelled pushing him away from me, leaving blood on his shirt.

Nate wouldn't respond no matter how much I tried to wake him up, as if he was asleep. My heart felt like lead and there was a numbness in my entire body. I couldn't move if I wanted to.

After what seemed like hours someone finally grabbed me and pulled me away from his corpse as the paramedics took him away.

"Shh, it's gonna be okay. I'm here" Madison said as she held me in her arms. I cried and cried until I heard the ambulance's sirens grow farther and farther away from us.

"Let's go inside" she said while slowly walking us back inside. When we entered the house, it was eerily quiet.

I looked up and saw that the lights were off but I could see that the kitchen lights were on. I walked up to the doors that led to it but stopped before opening it and pressed my ear against it. I could hear the rest of the girls whispering about something.

I walked away, past Madison who was still standing in the doorway and upstairs. I walked past Jack's office, his lights off. I didn't know if he was in there, or if he was even home at all. Honestly I didn't care, I'd like to see him dead.

After I managed to get into my room i laid on my bed and stared at the ceiling. Where did everything go wrong? If I had known things would turn out this way, I might've stayed a little longer, talked a little longer, and hugged him a little tighter. How foolish of me to think this'd last.

A knock on the door interrupted me from my thoughts. It was Madison.

"Hey, I know right now is not a good time but," she whispered before throwing me a small blue box that read 'Tiffany & Co' with a white ribbon and a note attached to it,"they found it on Nate when they were, ya know, examining his body."

She left without another word, leaving me speechless. I was too heartbroken to do anything really, so I put the box with the note on my bedside table and cried myself to sleep. Something I knew too well.
