The doctor said I could give birth any minute now, so Tobias rented a small condo close to his clinic, for when the baby comes. At least I got through Christmas and New Year's Eve! And then January and February... and while I enjoyed all the pregnancy sex and the blood that I had to drink for the baby to grow strong, now she just doesn't want to come out!

Nobody in our families knows about my pregnancy. We both decided this way because we don't know how much vampire dna will the baby have.

"Please, baby girl, come out! Mommy is tired!" I say while gently caressing my huge belly. The baby replies by kicking me in the liver.

"For fuck's sake! I can't take this any longer!" I say just as Tobias walks through the door with food in his hands.

"What's wrong, darling?" He quickly places the food on the table and runs to me.

"The doctor said sex would induce labour sooner." I tell him and he smirks.

"Are you that desperate for my dick?" He says and I scoff.

"Yes! For fuck's sake! I crave you and I want this baby out of me, so forget the food and fuck me hard!"

"Do you remember your safeword?" He asks and my mouth runs dry with anticipation.

"Yellow!" I say and he smiles darkly at me.

"On your fours on the bed!" He says and just as I arch my back to sit on all four, I feel a warm liquid pouring down my legs.

"Well, that was fast!" I say laughing. Tobias, on the other hand, is freaking out. He quickly comes to my side, cutting his wrist and feeding me his blood.

"Drink up!" He says and I look at him confused.

"Won't this heal me?" I tell him.

"This will make sure that, if something happens to you while you give birth, I can easily turn you into a vampire." He says and I drink his blood.

"Now I need to bite you!" He says and I look at him feeling dizzy from the pain of the first contraction. He takes my left wrist and bites it, then my right one. Then he bites my shoulders and my calfs.

"Is this really necessary?" I ask him, drying the blood from the punctures.

"In order to turn, you need to have both vampire venom and blood in your system." He says and I start to panic.

"What aren't you telling me?" I ask him and he looks at me panicked.

"Humans don't survive giving births to vampires, Rosalie! I didn't want you to spend your pregnancy in fear of this moment. I'm sorry I didn't tell you!" He says and I feel my legs giving up on me.

"So, I'll die?" I say mortified with fear.

"You'll be reborn!" He says. "Today is the day my two vampire beauties come into this world!" He says, trying to lighten the mood. Another contraction starts, a much bigger one.

"We need to go now!" I tell him and he picks me up and speedruns to the clinic. Luckily for us, the doctor is on duty tonight.

"Take off your clothes and put this hospital gown on, Rosalia!" The doctor tells me. I do as instructed and then Tobias helps me up on the delivery table. Then he takes my hands and bites them again, my neck on both sides and my thighs.

"That should be enough, Tobias!" The doctor tells him.

"Drink some more, my love!" He says and gives me his wrist. I drink until the next contraction starts.

"Fully dilated! Push, Rosalie! Push hard!" He says and I try but my body doesn't want to listen to me.

"Come on, darling! Push hard!" Tobias kisses my knuckles and squeezes my hand.

"Aaaaarrrrggghhhhh!" I give it a big push, feeling like I'm being split into two. "Please! I can't! This is too much!" I beg as I cry with pain and despair.

"Another one, darling! You'll be alright! I took all the precautions." He tells me and I frown, but before I can say anything, another contraction starts.

"Gggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!" I push another time and feel myself lightheaded. My heart is racing in my chest so badly that I can hear it in my ears.

"Another one, darling!" Tobias tells me and I cry with fear. My tears turn into screams immediately as I feel a part of me being ripped from inside of my body. My vision slowly turns black as I hear my baby's cries for the first time.

And then, there's silence.
