Rose
"This place is nice!" I tell him as he pulls my chair so I can sit down at the table.
"It's the best I could do, given the area we live in." He excuses himself a little more uncomfortable than he should.
"So, how does this work? Kinda used to the lots of sex and no talk part." I tell him and suddenly feel very annoyed by the fact that I still don't know too much about him.
"What do you want to know?" He asks me calmly.
"Do you remember your parents?" I ask him and then realize this probably isn't the most convenient question I could start our night with. He smiles and pauses for a second.
"My mother was killed some time ago by Lycans. My father is still alive, thank whatever gods I should thank!" He says and I frown. I feel like I should be digging more into the topic.
"How can he still be alive? Aren't you, like, 400 years old?" I ask him and he smiles uncomfortably.
"I was born a vampire. My mother was human when she gave birth to me. She had me and then my dad turned her." He tells me and I'm left dumbfounded. Vampires can impregnate humans? My hand automatically goes to my belly. Does this mean that once I fully become human, I could become pregnant?
"So... is this something that happens very often?" I ask him and he frowns even more.
"It's very rare! It's even more rare for my father's bloodline." He tells me and I look at him confused.
"Do you have any other siblings, apart from your brother?" I ask him.
"No! He's the only one. We're twins." He tells me and I almost choke on my water.
"Kudos to vampire dad!" I say winking at him and he smiles for the first time tonight. What's wrong with him? Why is he so stressed out? The waiter comes to our table to take our orders.
"I'll have the medium beef steak with a glass of red chardonnay." I say and he looks at me with panic.
"Make that two! Forget the wine!" He says and I look at him confused. The waiter leaves and I turn my attention back to him.
"What's wrong with you? Is this how it's going to be after I move in with you? You tell me what to drink and what to eat?" I ask angrily.
"My love, it's not like that!" He starts speaking and I cut him off.
"Then how is it? Because you just told him not to bring me wine!"
"Tell me something, Rose. When was the last time you had a heat flash?" He asks and I look at him half angry, half confused.
"What does that even have to do with anything?" I ask him, trying to keep some sort of calm appearance.
"Indulge me! It will all make sense in a minute!"
"Fine! Three weeks ago!" I say and wait for his next question.
"Did you get a period?" He asks me and I blush.
"Yes! While I was away in Neverland." I tell him.
"That means that your uterus is fully human now." He says and I start to see where this is going. His story... him canceling my wine order... the sensitivity I feel in my breasts.
"No..." I say and his face becomes so sad that my heart breaks when I look at him. "I didn't mean it like that! Shit! I don't know... Tobias, before I met you I thought I was gay! I never pictured myself having kids! I've never been with a man before you! And now my life has been turned upside down!" I tell him and feel tears pooling in my eyes.
"I never thought of all of this either! This is something very rare, Rose! Especially in my family. I'm a born vampire that has been conceived by another born vampire." He tells me, as if that was supposed to make any sense for me.
"I don't care about statistics right now, Tobias! I'm pregnant! I will become a complete human in a couple of months. I will grow old and die! And all of this because you were curious to meet me! You did this to me!" I tell him as I stand up to leave.
"Please, Rosalie! Don't leave me again! You said you'll never leave me!" He says, sounding defeated.
"It's not like I can stay away from you, Tobias!" I say but then I remember I did in fact stay away while I was in Neverland. I didn't lose my mind like I did the first day he had to go for a couple of hours.
"Please!" He says, almost begging. I sit back down and look at him in shock.
"I'm already human..." I say and see fear in his eyes. "I'm human, right?" I ask him again and he looks down. "Answer me, damn it!" I hiss at him.
"Yes! You are!" He says and I feel like my brain is about to explode.
"How long have you known for?" I ask him and he frowns. "And don't fuckin' lie to me, Tobias! Or I will leave and you'll never meet your child!" I tell him and he looks at me in panic.
"Since you came back from Neverland. Your blood tastes human." He says and I feel my anger bursting to the surface.
"And when the fuck where you going to tell me?" I ask him, banging my fists against the table.
"Does it matter that much that you're human now? You're still the one I want, Rosalie! You still want me! That has nothing to do with our addiction! It has to do with the fact that I love you and you love me!" He says with a calculated voice.
"That's not the point!" I say and he frowns.
"Then what's the fuckin' point, Rosalie? Is my love not enough for you?" He asks me and I swallow a non-existent lump in my throat.
"I'm mortal!" I tell him, letting my fears bubble to the surface.
"You don't need to be..." he says with a hint of a smile on his lips.
"What do you mean?" I ask but then remember the story of his parents and look at him in awe. He smiles and licks his canines.
"Oh..."
