The surroundings were awfully quiet as always. A little girl quietly went upstairs from her room at underground. The house was silent. It was one of the rare times that she was able to get out of the house without her father following her. Something that she can only experience about 4 times a year. It's because his father is out at night for unknown business and returns at dawn.
She has never been out of the house at morning with due to her father saying the light outside can burn her so she was always kept in her room at the basement at daytime. Mostly, her father spends his time either at his hunting shack at night while he hunts monsters in the morning.
At rare times, she is allowed to step foot out of the house. But her father always accompanied her, and they never got to far. She would only watch as her father hunted animals with his shotgun, completely unbothered on as her father carried her on his back.
But her father never allowed her to go out by herself. But that doesn't mean she can't.
The little girl got out of the house through the window at the attic. She carefully walked on the roof with her ragged shoes and found her usual way down. She climbed down the piled up crates before finally reaching the ground filled with grass. She smiled to herself before running of, albeit tripping almost her whole run as she rarely ran inside the house, only being able to in one of these rare occasions.
Around her home was a dark and gloomy, seemingly endless forest with very tall and thick trees. Running past the muddy pond in front of their house, she finally reached the hanging bridge which was, in her opinion, something she hated very much as it was hard for her to steady herself. She crossed it with shaky legs before finally making it to the other side and ran again.
After a minute of running, she finally stopped and leaned against a tree, gasping for air.
" Psst! "
(Y/N) looked around startled and confused on where the sound could be from. " Pssst! ", it called out again. This time, (Y/N) was able to know where it came from. She looked up the tree on her left and found someone sitting on top of one of its branches. She looked at the person in confusion as it waved at her before she waved back hesitantly.
" Come here! Join me! ", It called out to her. (Y/N) pondered for a bit before walking towards the huge tree and tried to climb it.
Tried.
She tried for about 4 times but failing each time because of her weakened muscles. After her 5th failed attempt, the person on top finally let out a hearty laugh. (Y/N) glared at it before huffing and walking away.
' That thing must be one of the crazy lunatics father told me. ', She thought to herself bitterly.
" Hey! Wait! Wait! Don't walk off! I'll help! ", The thing said before climbing down, making the girl stop in her tracks and turn back. " Here, climb on my back and don't let go alright? ", The person?? said as it bent down. (Y/N) hesitantly climbed on his back, her father's rule of staying away from literally anyone flying past her. The person then started to climb up to its position earlier before carefully settling her down beside him.
(Y/N) instantly regretted it.
They were too high.
It didn't look too high back when she was at the ground, but now, she was shaking in fear. The person noticed her distress and scooted closer to her. " You can lean on the tree if you're too scared. You'll get used to this soon. ", It said in a soothing voice. She did what it said and leaned onto the tree for support and waited for a few seconds before relaxing.
She looked back to the person and was just able to properly view it. A fellow human, a boy from what she gueses. He had light brown hair that swayed back and forth from the wind's cold breeze. He had the usual dark eyes that shined brightly. He had soft features that made him look kind and sweet. He had a gentle smile on his face. His skin glistened under the moon's light. He was wearing a white blouse and beige below the knee length shorts. His voice was soothing.
