Third Person

The classroom was crisp with fall air. Sunlight trickled in from the window, splashing light on the grey linoleum.
The students weren't as crisp, though. Most of them were staring at the board blankly, sleeping, or on their phones.
Karl and Sapnap were sitting in the back row, softly giggling.

They were sending the group chat random snaps from their classroom, with captions like 'class sure is lovely today', or 'was there a party that we missed?'. To the average eye, it probably wasn't that funny, but to their sleep deprived brains, it was.

Karl and Sapnap had been out skating and listening to music until like ten thirty the previous night, and had roleplayed on Bloxburg until around three.

Flashback
1:37AM

"Karl! Feed me! Waa! Waaa!" Sapnap whined into the microphone.

"Ugh! you are such an ungrateful child!" Karl said over the sound of Fine by Lemon Demon playing in the background. He giggled. They were such idiots.
The brunette cooked some beef stew and put it on the table.

"I don't want beef stew!" Sapnap made retching noises as his character, a child with a black mullet, ran away.
"Come back, you ungrateful brat!" Sapnap cackled as he ran out of the virtual house. Karl was absolutely losing it. The brunette character was idle, looking side to side.
He composed himself, and continued the roleplay. He got into the car on his plot and started driving around the map.
He eventually found the ravenette, and pulled up beside him.
"Get in," the brunette growled. Sapnap started fake crying.
  "I'm sorry dad," Sapnap sobbed.
"You best be," Karl's character began driving, "because your ass is dead when we get home." Karl laughed.
"No! I promise I'll eat the beef stew!" The ravenette begged.
"Fine. But you're grounded until further notice."

End of Flashback

"Mr. Jacobs? Mr. Armstrong?" They were snapped back to reality by lovely Mrs. Zanderchuk. "Care to tell me what all the giggling is about?" Karl flushed. He never liked being confronted.
"Sorry. It wasn't even funny," Sapnap spoke up. "It won't happen again." He grinned and dramatically placed his phone on the desk. Karl did the same, making exaggerated eye contact with the teacher. She turned around, and continued to teach the class.
Eventually, the bell rang. Everyone started to get up to leave, but we're interrupted but the teacher's voice:

"The bell doesn't dismiss you, I do." The class groaned, and plopped back into their seats. "Here's your homework for tonight," she said, making her way around the room passing them out, "and get it done, because you'll need it for your test on Tuesday."  She arrived at the end of her desk. "Class dismissed."

BKarl's POV

All of us were walking to the nearby McDonald's, except for Quackity.
The ravenette hadn't shown up to school in the past week, and hadn't contacted us about going anywhere. I guess he just forgot to.

Sapnap and Dream had insisted we go to McDonald's at least once this semester, and today was the day. Sapnap and I walked side-by-side, and I was looking at the ground, listening to Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood. It was one of my favourite songs, and I found it on social media. As I listened to it fade into Rhinestone Eyes by Gorrilaz, I glanced at Dream and George.
I guess George's gloved hands were cold, because his hand was in Dream's sleeve. I smiled and sighed, wishing I could have that. I resumed looking at the ground.
"My hands are cold," Sapnap complained. I looked at him, turning the volume down on my music.
"Would it make you feel better if we held hands?" I suggested, half expecting him to say no. He had never shown romantic attraction towards me.

Well, not that I knew of.

  We were purely platonic, right?
Right as I was thinking this, he snatched my hand up. I slid our hands into my coat sleeve, a slight flush forming on my cheeks.

As we walked into the restaurant, we disconnected hands. We went up to those self-order thingies, and ordered our food.
As we waited, I listened to Come As you Are by Nirvana.
Sapnap had introduced them to me while he was in his 'emo' phase back in eighth grade, and I had listened to them since. Their music was great.

"1231?" The worker called our order. We all walked up to the counter and grabbed our food.

"Thanks." George smiled before turning around.

We ate in the school courtyard. The bag was side open, and the tray for our drinks was sitting on it, so it wouldn't blow away.
I sat cross-legged, my drink in my lap. George and I were sharing fries, while Sapnap and Dream were tossing a football back and forth.
I had one earphone in, listening to Harness Your Hopes -B-side by Pavement. I found that won't on a playlist, and really liked it.
  I heard George sigh.

"What's wrong?" I asked, pausing my music. He almost seemed startled by me talking to him, and he looked down at his grey sweatpants.
"Oh, nothing. Guess I'm just a little tired." He grabbed another fry out of the box. I knew it was just an excuse, but I didn't pry, so I just unpaused my music. I looked up at the clouds and closed my eyes.

A/N
That's the longest chapter so far on this book. Pogchamp. Also, I compiling an 'official' playlist for this fic, and I'll put the link, 'releasing' it, on the Author's Notes and Acknowledgements.

So, are they platonic? I guess we'll find out soon!
