The next morning he was summoned to the Ubuyashiki manor. He was escorted inside and let into the master's room. "Greetings master, I hope your in good health." Sanemi bowed. "Thank you Sanemi, I have called you here today to hand you this." He handed a piece of paper to Sanemi and Sanemi could read some words. "Giyuu was also supposed to be here, but due to his foot injury I decided why not let you take this to him." The master explained.
"What is it?" Sanemi understood some words but not all of them. "It is your marriage contract. You and Giyuu got to fill each of one out together." He handed him another one for Giyuu. "I understand, but can I talk to you about something Master?" Sanemi asked with a determine voice.
"Sure, what do you need Sanemi." The master asked. "Well as you know I visited my home village and I found out the Tomioka also lived there as a child." He paused to see what the master had to say. "Interesting, I never knew where Tomioka lived before living with the former water hashira." Sanemi smiled at the Master's enthusiasm. "Well, I wanted to know if as a wedding gift to Tomioka I could purchase the land and take everything out except Tomioka's families home and have it fixed up." He looked at the Master whose smile was really wide. "I love that Idea, and to do you one better I will help you with anything, purchasing or building. I'll send Kakushi to help you." Sanemi smiled he wondered if the Giyuu would smile seeing the home but he remembered the blood, so maybe he'd cry seeing it in its natural form. "Thank you master I'll send you details regarding the land when I get my hands on it. I will be going now." Sanemi got up and bowed. "I will see you another time then Sanemi, are you going to see Giyuu?" The master asked. "Yes after I take a visit from Kocho. She has been teaching me how to read and write. Then I will talk to Tomioka after."
"That sounds wonderful, and also Sanemi." The master called out. "Yes?" Sanemi asked. "You should really refrain from calling Tomioka, Tomioka. You two are going to get married and it is important to remember he will be taking your last name, so you should call him Giyuu." Sanemi's face heated up in embarrassment the thought of calling Giyuu, Giyuu was strange. "I understand." He walked out and went to the butterfly mansion. He went into Shinobu's office. "I got the marriage contracts, what do we even write on them?" Sanemi asked. "Hmmm, well maybe start a rough draft on a different piece of paper then go over them with Tomioka." She handed him a note pad and he took in and sat down and thought about what to write. "You should write what you want out of the marriage, like you want him or you to be kind always to each other." Shinobu suggested and with Sanemi's knowledge of writing he started to write, he wrote slow so the writing came out nice. After an hour he finished. "I'm done. I'll go give it to Tomioka now." He got up. "Forgot to mention, he is at home now. He wanted to leave so I had Kakushi transport him to the water estate. "Alright then. See you later." Kocho said. He left.
"You haven't seen it yourself Sanemi but you are calming down a lot, you are kinder and calm. Maybe the affects of Tomioka are rubbing off on you." She thought to herself.
He walked pretty fast to the water estate and without asking he opened to door, he went inside and took off his geta shoes. He went to Tomioka's room and knocked on the door. He heard 'Come in." so he opened the door and walked in. "Hello, Shinazugawa what can I help you with?" Tomioka asked he was reading a book. "Well, our marriage contracts came in and I was with Kocho and she was helping write out my part of the contract." Tomioka sat in the bed wondering why Sanemi seemed nervous. "Can I see what you wrote then?" He was calm and he reached his hand out. Sanemi approached the futon and sat on the matted floors next to him and handed him his rough draft. "I only started with that because I didn't want to mess up this piece of paper." Tomioka was quiet, he read over the rough draft carefully, he saw some mistakes but they weren't large. "Did Kocho read over it?" Tomioka asked. "No, I didn't want her reading it." Sanemi explained.
"Hm, well apart from some spelling mistakes, I think it is perfect Sanemi." Tomioka mustered that last part out. Sanemi's eyes went wide, he had never heard Tomioka call him his first name. His face went read. "Then can you help me with my mistakes then, G-Giyuu?" He cringed for stuttering his name. The ends of Tomioka's lips slightly curled up while Sanemi wasn't looking. "Alright, may you hand me a shodo? It is on that table over there." He pointed and Sanemi went to grab it. He also grabbed some ink knowing some was needed. He handed both to Tomioka. "Thank you." Tomioka dipped the shodo into the ink and started to write his part of the marriage contract, it was similar to Sanemi's because that is basically what they both wanted out of the marriage. Once he was done he picked up the paper and Sanemi watched Giyuu. Giyuu, was gentle, he pushed a strand out of his face and blew gently across the paper. When he was done he looked at his writing and placed it on the floor to dry a little bit more. "Why don't we migrate to the table?" He pointed and Sanemi nodded.
With Sanemi's help Giyuu made it to the table and they sat on the floor side by side. Tomioka grabbed the contract and placed it in front of Sanemi along with his rough draft. "Okay then, why don't you start writing and I'll stop you before your mistakes." Sanemi nodded and started to write gently, he was panicking on the inside though he had never sat this close to Giyuu before. But he did, when he held Giyuu in his arms in this same room, when they were at the butterfly mansion 2 days ago, but Sanemi was still freaking out.
The rest of the day Giyuu was helping Sanemi with the contract and correcting any mistakes, no his writing didn't look like Giyuu's all dainty and small, but it was still easy to read. "Good job." Tomioka said as he read the paper. "I have a question." Sanemi said.
"What is it?" Giyuu asked. "Well we are getting married soon, so do we continue to call each other by our last names or...?" Sanemi asked. Tomioka looked at him and thought about it for a second. "Well, my last name will change, and I think we have to get used to calling each other our first names." Giyuu said. "Okay then." They sat in a comfortable silence, it was nice but Giyuu decided to break it to ask a question. "Sanemi?" Sanemi turned to look at Giyuu. "Are we getting each other wedding presents or something?"
"Yes, I have already gotten you three." Sanemi thought to himself. But he didn't say it out loud. "Well, I don't see why not. Why do you ask?" Sanemi looked at Giyuu who wasn't looking at him, but at his hands he was fiddling with his fingers. "Well, I know I said I didn't want a traditional wedding or anything, but I think it sounds like a nice idea to get you something. What do you think?" He finally looked at Sanemi. "Alright, I will get you something then. When are we going to give them to each other?" Sanemi asked. "After the contract signing when we are alone?"
"That sounds like a nice idea." Sanemi smiled at Giyuu, it was soft smile. Giyuu turned red and turned away. "Alright then, we'll give our gifts after signing the contract."
