The music was so loud you could barely hear yourself think. You stared down at the drink you were swirling in your hand. You leaned against the bar watching the room. People stood around chatting, a few couples swayed to the music in the center of the room. The bartender behind you was collecting orders and passing glasses over the counters surface. "Have you seen Reid?" You ask one of your co-workers.
She nods, "I think he went outside," she points to the glass doors on the other side of the room.
"Thanks." You go off in search of your boyfriend. You weave your way through the crowd. After you push one of the glass doors open a cool breeze hits you, making you shiver. You walked out onto the balcony. You scan the cluster of people looking for the familiar tall blonde man you loved so much. And you see him, Making out with his assistant! You heart slams in your chest with a stabbing pain. Your feet are frozen to the tile patio. Kate, the assistant, pushes Reid off. He looks at you. You stare back at him. He stares back at you. You stand stalk still as Kate backs up and turns away. Reid walks over to you, "I-"
"You're cheating on me?" You whisper, "You're cheating on me."
"Y/n, It's not, we got carried away-"
"How long?"
Reid rubs the back of his neck nervously, "2, months."
"Two months," You scoff and blink back tears.
"Listen y/n, I didn't know how to tell you. I was going too. I didn't want," He motioned between the two of you. "This to happen."
"Okay, so you wanted to tell me that you don't love me. That the last year has been a lie?"
"No no no! I have loved every moment with you it's just. Kate and I got to know each other really well and we kind of fell in love. It just happened."
You shake your head.
"I suppose this means we are done," Reid frowns.
"Oh we are so done!" You exclaim. People are casting glances in the two of you's directions now. "We are totally done," You let a few tears fall before you walk away. Your heels click against the floors of Stark's Tower as you make your way towards the elevator. You press the down arrow and collapse against the wall inside. You click the lobby button and wait as the elevator begins to lower. You wipe away tear after tear with your fingers. The door slide open allowing you to exit. You rush past a guy walking through the doors, "Sorry," you mumble as you walk out of the building.
You walk down the sidewalk with your hands stuffed in your leather jacket pockets. Your damp eyes wander the dark sky. The warm lights from the streetlamps pour onto the cement as you walk through the park. A few feet away you see a bench. You walk over to it, sit down, and close your eyes for a minute.
"Hey," Someone says.
You open your eyes. You see Bucky, your fellow teammate, standing beside the bench.
