Onyx's P.O.V.
We all parked on the opposite road of Unity's house and eagerly rushed out of our vehicles, intent on seeing Unity's state. I could tell Quartz was just holding himself back as he just remembered he had a patient to tend to. He was already helping Jewel with bringing out the unconscious man from the backseat and situating him between them.
I reckon they didn't need my help, so I watched as they made their way to Onyx's Lab/Infirmary. I'm not going to do what Quartz was doing, you know, the 'laaaab' shit he does?
Damn it, I just did.
Anyway.
Darius was beside me in a second, wearing the rarest and softest smile I've ever seen on him. "Where's Unity? Isn't she going to welcome his husbands?" He joked, but when he saw my poker face, he sobered up.
Behind him were the rest of his friends, coming out of the car and started hauling the supplies into my house's open garage for the meantime.
"Where is she?" He asked.
I sighed heavily. I was about to tell him that Unity hasn't woken up yet, but lo and behold, Unity's door was thrown open and out came the person herself, still in a nightgown, but this time, it was white. Her face was clear of any discomfort that we saw when we were tending to her, and I pray to God I don't get to see her that uncomfortable in this life or the next.
If she changed her clothes, that meant she was awake for a while now.
It's strange. Unity's soft smile and the way her eyes lit up every time she sees me made me feel as if I'm the only man in her world.
But I'm not. Not by a long shot.
She looks at us all like that, even though she doesn't notice it yet.
That dampened my mood. Even though my brother and I agreed to keep her between us all, that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. Behind her were Tilly and Ollie, who were just as excited to see us as we are to them. When Tilly saw Darius, she came running towards him. That dampened my mood even more.
I think Unity saw my frowning face and was about to run to me when the unexpected happened.
It rained.
At first, it was only droplets of rain, trickling ever so slightly that you'd think of it as nothing, like a mist. It was also noon, meaning the sun was towering over us, bathing us in the afternoon glow. But the wind picked up, and so did the rain.
I was about to gesture all of us into Unity's house when Jewel rushed out from the infirmary, a gleeful look in her face. Behind her was Quartz and the barely conscious man, his arm around Quartz's neck and was leaning heavily against him.
"Everyone, go towards the rain!" Unity shouted over to us as she, too, stood under the rain, immediately soaking her white night gown.
Tootsie, who I haven't seen since the pharmacy raid, joined in too. She was playing with the puddles being created by the rain.
And since my mantra is "What Unity wants, Unity fucking gets.", I stayed where I was while she sauntered her way towards me, which, not going to lie, she looked sexy doing. The other men also ran to get to the rain, no questions asked.
Unity was already in front of me before I blinked, and she wasted no time, hugging my waist and burrowing her face on my chest repeatedly as if she was a cat in need of petting. My body relaxed under her touch, and I tenderly hugged her back, reminding myself that this woman had just gone through one of the most painful experiences known to man. I mean, technically, woman.
