"He's got a black eye, sprained jaw, a bleeding nose, a cut on his left cheekbone and lower lip, in short," Quartz looked at Darius as if he was blaming him, "not enough."
He shrugged, nonchalant. "Your brother pulled me off before I could inflict more damage."
"Hey! In my defense, they were killing each other." Onyx made his way towards us and kissed my hand, "How's my Unity?"
"You mean, OUR Unity- what the fuck?!" Quartz was about to hold my other hand, but he saw Darius's interlocked with it.
"Ah..." Onyx gave my hand to his brother, who grumpily took it but can't resist kissing it. "I see how it is. I honestly didn't expect you to be the first one to get in."
"I got a bit lucky," Darius replied, a cheeky expression on his face as he kissed my temple.
"Well, congratulations dude. I appreciate what you did to your... friend for disrespecting her."
"That's why we're here."
"Oh yeah, I thought you don't want to see him for a bit," Quartz asked.
I shrugged. "I came to get my fucking apology."
I let go of the boys' hands and sat on the chair beside Zach's bed, a troubled expression on his face while he rested.
I know he regretted what he had said and done. It was all fueled by jealousy, for which I can't fully blame him. Assuming that what Edward said was true, how would you feel if the person you liked got all lovey-dovey in front of you? I also know that he's too prideful for his own good and won't apologize even if it's his fault in the first place.
We have to change that.
"Where are Al and Connor?"
"They're in the kitchen," Quartz answered.
"Oh..." I sighed, "I know it's a stretch, but can I maybe trouble you guys into going there as well?"
Onyx and Darius were busy talking about something before focusing on us when they heard me asking them to leave.
"Absolutely not."
"One of us will stay here."
"Guys, he's Zachary. Your friend." I looked at Darius, "Did you really think he'd do it a second time?"
"Absolutely."
"Just- get out of here! I'll beat him up myself if he does something fishy, okay? Now shoo!" I tried my best to push them out the doorway and into the corridor, where they all tried to protest, but were met with the slamming of the door on their faces. I locked the door, just for good measure.
"Alright," I saw his brow twitch, but he didn't move yet.
I knew he was already awake when we walked in, his ears perked up, listening in on our conversation and whatnot.
"This is one of the few chances that you can talk to me. In your room. Aloooone~"
I sauntered towards his bedside and waited for him to stop pretending to be unconscious, and he did.
"Woah!"
He got up quickly just to hold my waist and slammed me down the bed, his face above me as I recovered from my shock.
"What the hell, dude!"
Zachary laughed, but he automatically winced in pain as the injuries on his face inflicted unwanted pain.
"I say dasurv. Hahaha!" I laughed at him as he tried touching his face to figure out where it hurt. I'm supposed to be mad at him right now, but I really can't stay mad at a person for long periods of time. Grudges, yes, if it warrants it. But, seeing Z's face like this, I think he already had enough punishment for today.
