Esmeray

"Esmayyy!!!" Theo screamed in joy, jumping up and down. He was delighted to finally see me after two days.

After he calmed down a bit, he asked me, "Why didn't you come out of your room? Is it because you didn't want to see me anymore." His eyes were glossy, and his nose was starting to get red.

I crouched down and said, "Of course not, little man. You are my favorite person in the whole world. Why do you think I don't want to see you anymore?"

"Because everyone I love left me. I thought you would leave me too." He said with tears in his eyes.

"I would never leave you, Theo. You hear me. I am never leaving you. You can't get rid of me even if you wanted to." I say, wiping his tears and pulling him into a hug.

We stayed like that until he asked me to pick him up, so I did. I ran my hand through his hair and rubbed his back. Soon, I heard his soft snoring and even breathing.

I smiled and walked him to his room. I put him down on his bed and put the blanket over him. After kissing his forehead I left the room.

I came downstairs, and Lorenzo came up to me. "Hey, how are you doing?" He asked.

"I am fine like I always have been."

"It's ok to not be ok sometimes. We are humans after all. Just know that I am here for you, whenever you need me and when you are ready to share whatever's been bothering you."

I didn't know what to say so I just smiled at him. Grateful.

"That's going to need stitches." He said.

"Huh? What?"

"Your hand. It needs stitches. Let me help you."

"Oh, no it's fine-"

"Please let me."

I gave up resisting and followed him to the living room. He told me to sit down and came back with a first aid kit.

He started to clean the cuts in my hand and then started to sew me up.

"How do you know how to do this?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Roman gets into a lot of fights and stuff, so he comes home hurt a lot. I am always the one to patch them up. Sometimes also for Emilio."

"Who patched you up if you get hurt?"

"I patched myself up." He said as he finished with the stitches.

"I am sorry."

"Why are you sorry?"

"Because it sounds like you are always there for everyone else, but no one was there for you."

He didn't say anything, just gave me a sad smile. He wrapped my hand with a bandage and said, "All done. Just don't get it wet, and keep it clean."

"Thank you, Lorenzo," I said with a smile.

"You most welcome." He got up with the first aid kit and walked away.

......

It was now dinner time, and everyone was home. We all sat at the dining table, eating away in silence. The only noise you could hear was the clanking of the cutleries.

I decided to break the silence as I had to talk to Emilio about Theo's school. I cleared my throat getting everyone's attention, and started to speak.

"Emilio, I wanted to talk about Theo's education. Have you enrolled him in any schools yet?"

"Yes, I have. He will be going to school starting next week."

"Ok, that's good. Can you please send me all the information about the school?" I asked since I wanted to do some research myself.

"Of course, but I assure you, it is a very good and prestigious school. And he will be safe there, don't worry."

"Ok then thank you."

"You don't have to thank me, Esmeray. He is my brother too. I always want what's best for him."

I gave him a nod and continued eating.

After eating, I went to my room and texted Liam.

Esmeray- Hey, what are you doing?
Liam- Hi, nothing I'm just bored.
Esmeray- you wanna go for a bike ride?
Liam- hell yeah!!!
Esmeray- ok, see you in 20?
Liam- yup!

I change into my leather pants, a black top, and my leather biker jacket. I put on my biker shoes and go to the garage for my bike.

I meet up with Liam by the bridge. I pull up next to him and say, "Race to the top." Which he replied to with a nod and got into position.

We count up to three and race off. We head towards the direction of the mountain top. There were a lot of turns, and the roads were dark too.

In the beginning, I let Liam go ahead of me and let him think that he is winning.  As we were almost to the top, I increased my speed and overtook him by a long distance.

When I was almost at the end of the road, I slowed down my speed and parked my bike. Liam was right behind. We took off our helmets and burst out laughing.

"That was awesome!!!" Liam exclaimed.

"Yeah! That was so much fun! We should do this more often." I added.

After a while, silence fell over us. Not the awkward one, but the comfortable one.

We got off our bikes and sat down near the edge. The wind was blowing our hair. The sky was nice and clear so you could see the whole city.

It looked very calming and peaceful. The moon was glowing bright, providing enough light so we could see each other.

I closed my eyes and tuned out all the voices in my head, focusing on the light breeze against my face.

Peace. Exactly what I needed.

Hey guys! How have you been? Sorry for the late update, I have been really busy and barely getting any time to write. But don't worry I will try to update again as soon as I can.  I really need to work on a routine for myself so I can get all my stuff done without stressing myself.
