I left the Ruins and entered a new place through a great door. A huge snowy forest, full of evergreen trees awaited me. I trudged through the deep snow, almost up to my neck. I was freezing.
Then I heard a branch snap behind me. I turned, but no one was there. I continued until I reached a point where the snow was thin enough to walk through. I heard approaching footsteps.
I turned to see a giant skeletal figure, silhouetted by the light from above. I saw his hand reach down to grab me, and I was abruptly brought into the air. His grinning face looked down on me.
"hey, pal." He said, in a voice that sounded bored and calm, yet intrigued. "what's someone so small doing out here in the snow? here, i'll help you out." He placed me in his jacket pocket.
It was warmer than the snow, that's for sure. It was also quite soft. I felt the environment shifting as he walked. He sat down somewhere and reached back into the pocket, taking me out again.
"now i guess i should properly introduce myself, huh? i'm sans. sans the skeleton." He held one of his fingers from the other hand to me as a form of handshake. I accepted the gesture.
"what's your name, little guy?" I was stunned for a second. "I... Don't remember my name." I sat there, horrified by that realization. I never thought it necessary to need it...
"well then, guess i'll just keep callin' you the little guy. heheh." He teased. I looked up at him again, he seemed entertained by me as he smiled.
"if you want to leave snowdin and head to waterfall, i can take you over there. i'm sure my brother won't mind if i leave my station for a bit." I nodded, and he began the journey to wherever Waterfall was.
