The rest of the way they walked in awkward silence and made it all the way down, earlier they grabbed a lit torch to make their way through the dark catacombs, Adam held it the majority of the way.
"Hey, wouldn't it be cool if there were like... Booby traps or something?" Adam said a bit mesmerized the more the light of the torch uncovered. "If by cool you mean dangerous then yeah, let's go with that." they continued more in silence "Um... are you okay? Sorry if I gripped you too hard" Adam trying to strike a conversation"Its fine, you used a perfect amount of strength to save me" she said denying his hopes to talk. Adam stopped all of a sudden and looked down "Adam?" she questioned "I'm sorry..." he said quietly "What? Adam what do you me-" "I SAID I'M SORRY!" he said loudly shifting his head back quickly taking her by surprise "S-Sorry?" "Yes! I'm sorry!" "For what-" "For everything! I'm sorry that I can act annoying! I'm sorry I can be awkward o-or talkative! I-... *Sigh*" he look back forward down. "I'm sorry you met me..." Sofia was surprised by his confession "Why would you be sorry? If anything I'm the one to say sorry" "Thats the thing! You know just what to do! You plan things out, you're a.. Perfectionist, I could never I shouldn't even be saying this! I'm supposed to be apologizing. Maybe thats why you were put at a higher position servant.. Your much smarter" Sofia put her hand solacly on his shoulder making him looking at her with sadden eyes seeing it was kinda reciprocated on her too, sorta. It was still hard to tell as she was still trying to keep her composure "Adam, you may call me all these things but I'm just acting.. When you have nothing, you gotta act like you own everything." she said light hearted and looked forward "Yeah.. I guess your right.. Again." "Right on, so-" "But that doesn't mean you aren't everything I said you were!" he said turning clasping one hand around her's, while the other held the torch "I- ok? But Adam-" "No excuses! I promise you that I believe that everything I said wasn't in vain!" "Great! Now that that's clarified, Adam there's-" "Hold on! I'm not done yet >:< I haven't gotten to the emotional part-" "ADAM!" "WHAT-"
A blade was put to his neck stinging the outskirts of his skin as he faced away from Sofia, fear spread across his face, and in quick reflex he put the torch to the source of the sword, fear replaced with shock then immediately back to fear. Which Sofia noticed. Sofia who had snatched the torch only moments earlier shown it towards the sword. The royal crest was engraved into the hilt. "Roland?"
"Who are and why are you here?" said Prince Roland "Calm down it's me Sofia, princess Julianne's lady-in-waiting and this is Adam, he is a friend to Kevin and a servant in the castle." Sofia quickly said. Roland suspiciously asked "When the eagle struck..." Adam confusedly looked at sofia" Sofia sighed and replied "The snake died." Roland slowly returns the knife into its sheath. They started following Roland, walking towards the light "How did you find this place?" "Trust me it was a lot harder than you think" Adam said in a bit of sarcasm trying to hide the timidness in his voice . Roland snaps quickly but this time he draws his sword as he quickly spinned to face him. A weak laugh followed after that by Adam and looked tense under the prince's gaze who can't seem to take his eyes off him, the sword still prodding Adam's neck as he defensively put his hands up to his shoulders open in a surrendering pose. *COUGH* "We do humbly apologize for bothering you but you see here, my friend" she says trying to intervene, grabbing Roland's attention "My friend here, has important news to tell you" She says calmly slowly putting her hand on the sword pushing it down, which he lets her. *sigh* "I'm sorry i didn't think anyone would ever find this place, I thought it could be a place i could be myself with no onlookers." Sofia and Adam looked at each other a little uncomfortable and not knowing what to do. Seeing their discomfort Roland quickly changed the subject. "Sorry, you said you came here to tell me something?" "RIGHT, that... well.. so you see... uuuu..." "GET TO THE POINT" interrupted Roland " Their was nothing going on between me and kevin. He told me to pretend to be with him." Adam said quickly. "What? Why would he do that?" Roland asked " Well he did that so that you would... " Adam zoned off.
