Lily's POV

„WE'RE OFFICALY IN the middle of fucking Kooklandia." I mutter, glancing around at the loaded residents and their families.

Kie rolls her eyes. "Shut up," she chuckles. "They won't hurt you."

I scoff. "Oh yes they will! They've already put me in a dress. I honestly think that's bad enough."

She lets out a chuckle. "You're helpless."

Midsummers was something I clearly wasn't used to. I mean, it's Kooklandia- the Kooks literal natural habitat. I feel extremely out of place, everyone I see looks like they're ready for a fucking wedding and here I am in sneakers and a casual dress.

If I had the choice, l'd definitely choose anything over being here right now. Not even gonna lie, I'd be happier to sort out John B's dirty washing then be here, that's how much I hate it.

"Hey," I stop in my tracks, pointing over to a boy behind a grill. "Isn't that Pope?"

Kie follows the direction of my hand and smiles. "It is! Let's go!" She exclaims and grabs my hand, yanking me forward.

"Jesus, Kie," I stumble, putting a hand on her shoulder to stable myself. "It's just Pope, not Harry Styles."

Kie laughs. "Oh yeah? I bet if JJ was over there you'd be getting to him twice as fast."

"Okay," I point a finger in her face. "not cool."

She scoffs, grabbing my hand again and walking towards the boy. „C'mon, don't lie."

"No comment." I purse my lips.

"I'm taking that as a yes." She smirks.

You're evil." I reply, earning a chuckle from her.

We quickly approach the boy and stop once we're behind him. He has his back turned to us and is obviously working for Heyward as he has
the businesses apron on.

Kie walks forwards and places her hands on his shoulders. "Excuse me, Sir," she starts in a rather posh English accent. "Do we have to shuck these ourselves?

„Cause it might mess up my costume." I Continue as he turns around, face lighting up when he sees the two of us.

He chuckles. "We wouldn't want that now, would we?" He joins in on the joke, doing the same accent as Kie. "That accent was bad." He adds.

"Not wrong." I chuckle, doing the 'Pogue Handshake' with him and standing beside the two.

Kie sighs as she glances around at everyone. "You ever seen this many Kooks in one place?"

"Yeah," Pope nods. "Last year."

"We're in the lions den." Kie comments, scrunching her nose up when her eyes lands on Topper and Kelce.

"Yeah, i just really feel like punching something." I groan a bit.

Pope stepps forward to put the hood down on the grill. "Hey, have you guys heard from JJ?" He asks the two of us.

"No, but Lily has." Kie answers, glancing over to me.

I shake my head. "I saw him for all of ten minutes," I shrug. "I haven't heard from him in hours, though."

"He'll be alright." Kie reassures Pope. "He's got the survival instincts of a cockroach." She slightly chuckles.

Pope shakes his head. "It's all my fault."
