Sam and you quickly move out of the way of the window once you notice Bobby catch you in the act of peeping at his and Dean's conversation. Knowing full well he saw you, you and Sam still pretend to busy yourselves with random tasks.

Sam immediately picks up his dad's old flip phone, working on cracking the password on the voicemail. While you grab an old book written in Japanese and start pretending to read it. A hug is a good sign, you think to yourself as Bobby takes his time walking toward the front door.

Finally — although it was only a minute — Bobby comes inside. Trying your hardest to act natural, you lower your book on samurai swords and carefully watch your father make his way to the kitchen. Your eyes follow him, hoping for any sign that will tell you it is okay to go talk to Dean.

"You gonna sit there staring at me all day, or you gonna help me with breakfast?" Bobby calls from the kitchen, causing you and Sam to exchange worrying glances.

Both of you quickly rise from your respective seats and trail into the kitchen, not saying a word as you wait for Bobby to give his orders. "Bacon," Bobby points to the fridge as he takes a loaf of bread out of the breadbox. You trail to the fridge and pull out the bacon. Not wanting to get too close, you gently put it down on the counter by the sink.

Bobby stops unraveling the bread bag and drops his head, silently shaking it. "Might as well go out there, I know you're dyin' too," he tells you without turning around.

You look at Sam once more, hoping he can validate that you heard the same command. Sam's eyes widen as he nods to the door, silently telling you to go before he changes his mind. Taking that in stride, you collect yourself and nervously make your way out of the kitchen, hesitating for the briefest of moments before opening the door to the summer air.

Dean isn't even working on his car, he is just sitting by the crushed front bumper, out of the line of sight from the opened house windows. You think this is a wise choice, as Bobby is no doubt carefully watching you from the kitchen to ensure no kissing occurs.

"Hey," you nervously smile, looking down at him as his expression doesn't reveal any new information.

"Sit," Dean sighs, patting the hot gravel next to him. You take your seat, wondering why both men are acting so strange, especially after they seemed to end their conversation on such a good note.

"Is everything okay?" You ask, turning to face him so neither of you has to crane your neck.

"I'm not dead..." Dean replies, his brows furrowed with concern as he forces himself to keep his eyes on the Impala, almost too afraid to look at you.

"I saw you and my dad talked," you inform, heart racing at an unforgiving pace.

Dean picks up a pebble and tosses it beneath the car, hands a little shaky as he takes in a heavy breath of air. "He said he was disappointed that we lied. And that he trusted me. He also called me an idiot... then there was something about me beggin' for hell before he's done with me..."

"Dean, I—," You start to defend the situation, but Dean cuts you off.

"Said I am not good enough for you, and no one ever will be. But even though he hates to admit it, he said I may be the best option. Oh!" Dean chuckles, "he also said he will fill me with silver if I ever hurt you."

Not really paying close enough attention to Dean's recounting of his and Bobby's conversation, you immediately start arguing your point of view. "That's just ridiculous, how am I ever supposed to be happy if he doesn't think anyone will be good enough— wait... what?" You stop Dean's words from fully registering in your brain.
