I wake up to an empty cabin, the sheets are ripped off the bed and some bloodied, some windows are broken, most of the weapons and armor is missing or tattered, but i'm left untouched.

I run around the cabin, checking every crevice, along with the bathroom and the back porch, to see nothing. I go outside through the front, and there's fire everywhere, ripped orange camp shirt scraps, dull arrows, chunks of armor, and most terrifyingly, blood. The gravel and dirt trails are now mud, a thick slurry of small stones, soil and human blood. The whole perimiter was greasy with human fat, and all of the cabins were ransacked, some completely rubble.

I check each cabin for survivors, or any hint of what's happening, and nothing. No people, no nymphs, no centaurs, nothing. That is, until I get to Aphrodite cabin. Tacked on with a bloody knife to the slightly ajar door, there's a tattered, stained, bloodsplattered note with decayed looking edges, and careful delecate handwriting, written in beautiful flowy aincent greek.

Tears begin to fall in the panic of it all, and I drop to my knees with shaky breath, and salty cheeks. I compose myself enough to read the letter, gently tearing it off of the knife, dripping with maroon blood. It reads:

Our power is much too powerful for your futile efforts, demigod. Just remember; immortality is a gift from the gods, don't take it for granted, for when your journey starts, you'll wish you were still an Olympian.
Let this dream coax you into reality, young one, as it's not too late. It would be unfortunate to dispose of you.

~

I jolt awake in a cold sweat, tears trickling down my face, which is as white as the soft linen everyone else is wrapped up in around me.
