Jisung

The walk from the main campus to Chan's apartment wasn't a long one but it gave Jisung enough time to think.

What was Minho getting at here? Why would he ask Jisung of all people to date him?

It was so out of character that he was sure hell was freezing over. Minho even got on his knees. It was a pretty sight and Jisung would love to see it again, but that's beside the point.

Jisung wasn't going to figure it out without an explanation and Chan's front door was steps away. He would have to put that train of thought on the back burner for now.

Jisung rang the doorbell and waited for Changbin's telltale scream. The door was flung open and Jisung was dragged inside the house before he could even get a word out. Chan was sitting on the couch laptop on the coffee table looking all brooding and stressed the way Chan tends to look when focused on work. Changbin was talking but Jisung had learned to tune him out years ago.

"Hey Chan, what's with the depressed look?" Chan barely even acknowledges the question he's so deep in thought. I get my answer from a neglected Changbin.

"He can't figure out why he hates the song he's working on right now." He says sounding more amused than concerned. To be fair, when has Chan ever loved a song from start to finish?

"I keep trying to tell him it's perfectly fine but he won't listen." Changbin continues. This gets Chan to finally look up and return to the world outside of his head.

"It's not perfect and I can't figure out why." He says sounding beyond frustrated. It always makes me sad seeing him so deep in self-doubt.

"Play it for me," I say and Chan complies easily enough.

The song wasn't bad by any means. It was actually really good, but Jisung thinks he hears the problem.

"The beat doesn't transition smoothly enough between parts. That's all it needs." Chan's face lights up immediately and Changbin grimaces.

"I didn't even notice, but now that you pointed it out I hear it." He says sounding slightly dejected.

"It was subtle, I barely heard it," I say in an effort to comfort him.

The room falls into a comfortable silence as Chan works on the song and Jisung slips back into his thoughts. Minho mentioned a girl. Jisung had never seen him around one before nor had he heard anything about one. To be fair, he rarely listened when Minho spoke, to begin with. He could ask Chan and Changbin but would they even know what he was talking about?

"Hey guys," Chan and Changbin look up immediately, startling Jisung with the quick response. He pushes on anyway.

"Has Minho ever mentioned a girl?" Chan looks like he's thinking about it and Changbin looks like he's about to have a field day.

"He has this girl Haneul. He despises her but I think she's nice enough." Chan says before looking back to his computer. Jisung could tell he was still listening, but not having eyes on him helped ease the anxiety he felt from his line of questioning.

The information provided was helpful. At least he knew Minho wasn't lying or pulling a prank. Before Jisung could slip further, Changbin spoke up.

"Why are you curious about this girl anyway? You've never shown any interest in Minho's love life before this Haneul girl. Why the sudden change?"

Jisung took a moment to think about his response. Changbin was always analyzing his relationship with Minho. Every time Jisung asks why, he says it's like watching a sitcom, whatever that means. He doesn't think he should bring up what Minho said to him. The only thing left to do is deflect.

"No reason, just a little curious," Changbin smirks like he knows something I don't. It's quite off-putting, to say the least.

"Curiosity killed the cat Jisungie." He warns before moving to sit by Chan.

The rest of the evening progresses like normal with Changbin being the energy the group needed.

Jisung is making his way back to the apartment he shares with his best friend and borderline twin, Felix when he gets a phone call from a number he doesn't recognize. He picks up out of curiosity and immediately regrets the decision.

"Hello, who is this?" Jisung asks fully expecting a scam call.

"You don't have my number saved Jisung?" Of course, it was Minho.

"I deleted it last month when you tripped me on purpose just to get the last pudding cup being served at lunch." Jisung wasn't even going to pretend to be remorseful. The lunatic got what he deserved.

"You're so petty. I'll let it go for now seeing as we have bigger problems. You promised me a boyfriend if I got on my knees, and I was definitely on my knees." Jisung couldn't help but start to blush. That site was going to haunt him for days.

"I said let's pretend, not that I actually agree." He wasn't about to catch me in a lie.

"Do you like it when I beg Jisung? Is that why you're being so difficult about this?" Minho wanted him to die. Jisung does like it when he begs...a little too much.

"Look meet me at my place. Felix won't be home for a while and it's only fair I hear you out. Be there in five or I'm locking the door and going to sleep." He hangs up without waiting for Minho to respond. He knew he'd show up.

And show up he did. Jisung had just barely changed his clothes before Minho was barging through his front door.

"You're late." Jisung just wanted to piss him off. He wasn't keeping track of the time.

Minho positions himself to lean against the wall by the kitchen as Jisung moves around the room collecting glasses he left lying around.

"Oh, whatever Han. Let's get to the point before Felix comes home." He has a point.

"Go ahead, I'm all ears."

He moves past Minho, putting the glasses in the sink as he waits for him to start talking.

"I kind of told this girl that we're dating and that you're my dance partner for Mr. Shin's class." Minho all but spits out.

Jisung spins around leaning against the counter.

"Wait a minute, you didn't mention anything about being your dance partner earlier." Why does he think he can just add terms and conditions after the fact?

"I know but it was the only way to get her off my back. I'm begging you here Jisung." Jisung avoids eye contact in an effort to think. That didn't last however since Minho took it upon himself to move from where he was standing to pin Jisung against the kitchen counter.

Jisung's brain starts to short-circuit at how close Minho is to his face. He could feel the press of Minho's body against his.

"Would you stop being a brat and pretending like this isn't something you want Jisung? I haven't forgotten what happened in my senior year." Jisung had the sudden urge to punch Minho in the face.

"You know nothing about what happened Minho. Stop acting like you know me. I'll agree if you get the hell out of my face and the hell out of my apartment." Who the hell is Minho to bring that up like he knows anything?

Minho looks like he's about to say something else when the front door slams open for a second time that day.

"Hey Jisung I was wonder-." Felix cuts himself off as he stares at Jisung who is still currently pinned against the counter with his face inches away from Minho's. How was he supposed to explain this?
