The Truth Comes Out Eventually

I was a nervous wreck. A complete and utter nervous wreck. After years and years of gathering evidence and statements, I was finally going to present my findings to the Auradon Council.

A little back story is needed here. When Auradon was created, in order for the royal families to agree to have Adam and Belle as the ruling monarchs, a council had to be made. Not everyone agreed that just one family should rule over all the land, even if it was Adam's idea to create the Isle and Auradon. I mean they were all ruling their own kingdoms separately, why should they give up their power to live under someone else's rule? It made no sense to them.

Why create a whole new country when they were fine ruling on their own. They could agree to the Isle, but giving up their monarch power, that was far fetched.

So to appease the power hungry, the Auradon Council was made. The ruling monarchs of the separate kingdoms would combine to make Auradon make up the council. Before any law or decision regarding citizens would be passed a majority of the council would have to agree. Sure Adam was the ruling monarch, but this let the others still hold some type of power within the government.

This council made decisions such as who was sent to the Isle and who lived in Auradon. They also made decisions on what limit and restrictions the Isle has. And once a decision is made they rarely ever go back to check on it and made sure it was the right one to make. Which is why the Isle lacks the basic necessities of life.

The council consists of Aurora and Philip, Snow White and Florian, Cinderella and Henry, Elsa and Anna, Ariel and Eric, Rapunzel and Eugene, Tiana and Naveen, Jasmine and Aladdin, and finally Merida.

A few years after I came from the Isle I had tried to get my dad freed, but the council said I simply didn't have enough evidence. So I've spent the last few years gathering evidence. I interviewed all the villagers with audio and video recordings and I went over all their statements and built a timeline. Since my dad was convicted solely based off of the words of others, I'll use those same words to free him. I made and a power point and printed out booklet filled with everything I had gathered. Carlos and Evie even helped me put them together. Carlos helped with the powerpoint while Evie helped with the layout of everything and the arguments I would make.

All I had to do now was present everything to the council. But I was nervous. What if it still wasn't enough. It's no secret that most monarchs are biased towards all villains. They view the world as black and white and refuse to see that the world has a lot of grey. That not everything is purely good or evil. And because of this bias they don't take the time to actually think their decisions through. Because if they did, the Isle wouldn't be as bad as it is. Kids wouldn't be fighting for food, they would have a decent education and they wouldn't be left to suffer because of the actions their parent made when they weren't even alive.

I gathered my materials and headed towards to council room. Once I had everything set up I waited for everyone to arrive. One by one each monarch made their way to their assigned seat. The last time arrive was Adam, Belle and surprisingly Ben.

I cleared my thought to get their attention and clicked to the first slide.

"Good morning, I'm sure you all know the reason for this meeting so I'll spare the introduction. I've prepared a power point and in front of all of you are booklets that contain all the same information as the power point aside from the videos. The transcripts of the videos are in the booklet though."

Each one of them pulled the booklet closer to them and looked over it quickly.

"I certainly that each and every one of you has heard the supposed tale of my mom and dad. Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. My dad, a werewolf, tried to steal food from my mom and dressed as her grandmother in his wolf form to trick her into getting said food and then attacked both her and her grandmother, only for them to be saved by the heroic Pete the lumberjack."
