Ben stood on a platform gazing at the fog-covered Isle across from him. He was currently in the middle of his fitting for his coronation tux. He was about to be 16, the age acceptable for taking over the throne. But despite his coronation being months away, his ascendence to the throne was the last thing on his mind. Instead, his thoughts were plagued by a certain isolated island. The Isle of the Lost. A place full of the most deceitful, mischievous and evil people.

For weeks Ben's mind was clouded with questions and curiosities about the Isle. What the Isle looked like, how it felt to live there, the villains that occupied the Isle and most importantly their children. There was so much he wanted to know, but his resources were limited. He had no way of learning about the said Isle. This was his main factor when he began his idea for his first proclamation as King. It would be a risky one, but it allowed him to create new opportunities then he would at least try to make it happen.

As if on cue, King Adam and Queen Belle had walked into the room. Their faces lit up at the sight of their son being fitted.

"How is it that you're going to be crowned king next month? You're just a baby," Adam exclaimed as the two made their way further into the room. Ben smiled at his parents.

"He's turning sixteen dear," Belle reminded him as she picked up Ben's blazer that had been laying on the chair.

"Sixteen. That's far too young to become a king. I didn't make a good decision until I was 42," Adam continued on. Belle looked at him in annoyance and disbelief.

"Uh, you decided to marry me at 28."

"Well, it was either you or the teapot," Adam joked. He winked at Ben who chuckled in return. Seeing the look his wife was giving him he quickly added "kidding" in hopes not to anger her. She huffed and turned to look at her son.

Seeing as there was a moment of silence, Ben decided that now would be a good time to let his parents know of the newly made decision. He took a small deep breath before finally addressing his parents.

"Mom, Dad, I've decided to order my first proclamation." The two looked at Ben in interest. Until now Ben hadn't spoken about any ideas he had for his first big decision as King, so to hear that he had already made up his mind was news to them. Ben paused for a moment be for the spoke. What he was about to say would cause his parents to have a large reaction, whether those reactions were or not, he would have to see.

"I've decided the children of the Isle of the Lost should be given a chance to live here in Auradon."

Bad. Their reactions were bad. Both were so shocked that they couldn't find the words to speak. Their son was suggesting that children who had been raised and taught by the evilest people in the world, should come live in Auradon, the country of good.

"Every time I look out the window I feel like they've been abandoned," Ben explained hoping that his parents would slightly understand. Though that hope soon vanished.

"The children of our sworn enemies living among us?" Adam asked in disbelief. Had Ben actually expected him to agree to this? There were so many scenarios where this could end up with the villains escaping the Isles, yet he wanted to risk it all so a few children could possibly learn to be good. In Adam's mind, there was no decision to be made about whether this was happening or not. It was evident to him that the risks outweighed the advantages. But like always Adam's mind was only focused on the Villians, not once did he ever think about the children that he was forcing to live on the Isle due to their parents.

"I sought out a few at first. Only the ones that need our help the most. I've already chosen them," Ben informed them.

"Have you?" Adam asked annoyed. Belle placed her hand on his arm slightly.

"I gave you a second chance." She wanted to hear Ben out. It seemed like he wanted to do something good for the children that everyone had seemed to forget existed. It was only fair that they gave him a chance to explain his plan. "Who are their parents?"

"Cruella De Vil, Jafar, The Evil Queen and Maleficent." Once Ben had uttered the last name all reasoning had left Belle's mind. There was no way that she would allow the child of Maleficent to come to Auradon, even if they hadn't done anything wrong.

"Maleficent?! She's the worst villain in all the land!" Adam roared.

"Dad just hear me out," Ben begged.

"I won't hear of it. They are guilty of unspeakable crimes," Adam refused.

"Dad, their children are innocent. How you possibly justify denying kids who have done nothing wrong a chance to be good just because of who their parents are? Besides, look at Crystal. She grew up in the Isle, but she learned to be good. You gave her a chance despite who her father is."

"She's different. She was still a child when she came here. Teaching a child to be good is easier than teaching a teenager. These aren't just some random kids from the Isle, they've been raised by the evilest villains in history. How can you possibly trust them to come here and not try anything?"

"Because we have a responsibility to them as the leaders of Auradon. The reason that they've grown up in that type of environment is because of the rules you put in place. No one in Auradon cares that there are children living in a place where they aren't taught to be good, where their living conditions are less than sanitary, and that they don't get a decent education. You can say all you want about how they were raised, but in the end, it's everyone's fault that they were raised that way in the first place. No one thought for a second that maybe they shouldn't allow kids to be raised by the people they considered to be pure evil. It's not fair that they have to suffer for their parent's actions. They deserve a shot at a better life."

"I suppose their children are innocent. I guess I never took into account what would become the children that were born on the Isle when I first made it. We can give them a chance."

Ben smiled in relief. He honestly thought he would have to argue his perspective some more before his parents finally gave in. He was prepared to call Crystal just to back him up. Having someone who has actually seen the conditions the Isle was in would help his argument.

Belle walked over to Ben and fixed his blazer slightly. Her son was all grown up. He was starting his own legacy and she couldn't be more proud. She smiled at him before stepping back slightly.

"Good job." With that, she walked back over to her husband. The two walked out of the room hands intertwined hoping that their son's proclamation would go as planned.
