Sam's POV

I was grateful that Y/N didn't argue when I said I was coming with her to the police station. I didn't know the demon and I was worried about how it would relate to her. I guess I wouldn't send anyone in there alone and was glad I would be there to protect her if something went wrong. It was a quiet trip back to the police station and I wondered what was on her mind. A couple of times I noticed that she was about to say something but must have decided against it as she either turned to the look out the side window or she just said nothing.

I once again reversed the Impala into a parking spot back at the police station and as I turned off the car I glanced over noticing that Y/N was staring at the building with a concerned look. I searched the carpark quickly but saw nothing and nobody. Turning back to her I said, "Are you ok?"

She met my eyes and smiled, "Yeah, fine" came the reply as she turned, reaching out for the handle and added, "Let's go."

I grabbed her upper arm gently and she turned back to me with a frown, "Are you sure you're ok? We don't have to do this if you don't want too."

"Of course we do. I refuse to let Crowley anywhere near that prisoner, Castiel has already been seen with you and the FBI are still around. If Dean goes in there he might be arrested on the spot-" she paused and looked down at the space between us.

I released the grip I had on her and searched her eyes. The comment had me wondering if she was worried that I might be arrested too. Was she more worried about me than any of them? Did she even care? Could I be right? Was there some spark between us that if nurtured could developed into a beautiful relationship? No. I didn't want to think like that. I couldn't bring her into this supernatural world, well no more than she already was.

"You being here, is risking it already. I'm hoping none of the demons are here" she said, then muttered softly, "Especially the FBI."

"Y/N? Are you worried I might be arrested?" She looked up into my eyes and I saw the concern.

"I'm more worried if the demon hurts you, or worse" she cut off her words and turned to look out the window.

"My brother and I have been doing this for a long time. I've seen a lot and I know that demons cannot be trusted."

"Even Crowley?" She muttered softly.

"Especially Crowley. We've been outsmarted by him a few times."

She met my eyes and gave me a weak smile, "Really?"

I nodded and I felt her intense stare reaching deep in my soul. Her eyes flicked to my lips and then backup quickly. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Of course you can. Ask me anything Sam."

I looked out the front window and I took a deep breath as my nerves were high, "Am I on my own thinking that there is something between us?"

She huffed out a breath as she said, "Oh my God Sam! I thought it was just me."

Suddenly there was a tapping at the window beside Y/N and we both looked out her window to see Thomas standing there, bent over to look inside. I heard the slight groan from Y/N as she reached out to open the car door. Thomas helped her open it some more and I was quick to get out my side to rush around, just as he shut the door. Y/N gave Thomas a pained smile as she said, "What are you doing back here?"

"I was about to ask you the same question" he turned to me and continued, "and I see Sam is with you once again" his voice carried a note of jealousy, and I wasn't the only one to pick up on it.
