Sam's POV

"So, he's a question for you both, where is this child going to be staying?" I sit down at the kitchen table next to Y/N as Dean suddenly asks the question that both Y/N and I have avoided as neither of us had really given it much thought, well, I knew I hadn't.

I glared at him as I couldn't think of anything to say, but Y/N was my saviour when she glanced over at me, then met Dean's eyes as she simply said, "Discussions are still ongoing Dean, but I would assume that we all would want this child to be in the safest place it possibly could as it will be a Winchester, and in danger, always."

I huff out a little breath as I realise that she is right. This child will be hunted, and I needed to make sure they were safe, and the only way I could see that happening is if she lived here at the bunker. I looked over at her, my head going through the pros and cons of her actually moving in here.

Dean was quiet a moment, but when he finally asked the question, it wasn't that he was against it, it seemed that he was just surprised that we would be that brave, or stupid I guess, "Really? You're going to give this child the Winchester name?"

"This child is a Winchester" Y/N snapped, and I noted a little hostility in her voice, but then in a sweeter voice she said, "Sam will be the father that this child needs, and you will be the best uncle it could wish for. Both of you will be special in this child's life."

Dean's eyes meet mine and I knew exactly what he was saying. He was asking if she was being real, and I nodded my head, "You heard." Was all I said before I looked down at the table, stifling the laugh.

"Sam will be teaching me everything there is to know about the supernatural, and when this child is old enough, I want to be able to teach it everything that I know too." Y/N said, and I looked up to see Dean's face.

"Sounds like a good idea" Dean said as he met my eyes, "It's going to have to know how to deal with the things that are going to be hunting it."

"Sam doesn't want to teach me, or this child how to fight the supernatural." Y/N said, and I turned to her to see the stern look on her face.

"What do you mean you won't?" Dean's voice was filled with anger, and it was aimed right at me, "You need to teach Y/N all about how to defend herself Sam. The child too."

I didn't turn to Dean as I stared at Y/N, "I will not-"

"Don't give me that Sam. You and Dean cannot be around all the time. There will be times I will be by myself, and I don't want some supernatural thing to get the better of me because you're too stubborn to teach us how to protect ourselves."

Meeting Dean's eyes, he gives me a shrug and a small shake of his head, as if saying 'you're on your own with this one.' I take a breath and meet Y/N's eyes once again, "I just need time to adjust to it. You don't understand what you are asking of me. I never wanted to bring a child into this life, that was why I wanted to give up hunting."

I heard Dean's gasp of surprise, but I ignored it for now as I focused on Y/N and what she was going to say to me. Y/N looked at Dean, but after a quick nod of her head to him saying she was upset about that too, she turned back to me and said, "You are not giving up hunting, but I am giving up the police force."

I glared at her, and it was then my turn to shake my head and tell her she wasn't doing that either, "No. We need you there. You need to keep your job."

"I agree" Dean added in even though we didn't ask.

Y/N frowned at me, "Are you both sure that I should?"
