Chapter 4: Decisions of the Council

~ Third Person POV ~

"I guess my responsibility has been decided for me. I will stay and help you all before I take my leave." Haechan said to the rest of the council.

"That's no fair, if she was going to pick yours why couldn't she have picked ours." Baekhyun said back dramatically.

"Watch your tongue merchant. I'm sure the queen had her reasons." Jungkook snapped back.

"So much barking from her highnesses dog." Jimin interjects.

"Run back to your whore house jester." Jungkook fires back.

"We are all friends here, so why don't we finish her highnesses task so we can be excused for the day hm?" Kai says back annoyed.

"Great idea! But one problem, I don't think any of them belong with us. They all seem quite useless." Taehyung says with his feet kicked up on the table.

"Don't forget they were princes of a major empire. They might be pretty, but I'm sure they have quite the array of talents hidden behind those faces of theirs. I mean, just look at me." Jimin responds cockily.

"I agree with the first portion of Duke Jimin's notion. I have heard quite a deal of the princes in my negotiations with Garah and the other kingdoms." Kai responds confidently.

"Let's hear it then." Haechan says clearly wanting to be dismissed.

"Jungwon, the boy who was supposed to be the future king to Garah needs to be with me. He knows a great deal of the policies of other kingdoms from his studies and was favored to win the crown by the king, so it only makes sense he trains under me." Kai says.

"Are you sure? He is known for being quite the little talker, maybe politics are what we should keep him away from." Jimin speaks up.

"I thought of that as well, but I can keep him in line." Kai responds.

"Two down, five more to go. Any other good information Duke Kai?" Haechan chimes in.

"Yes, I believe Jay is best suited for Commander Jungkook. It is said amongst the brothers that he excelled the most in combat and military strategy." Kai says informing the group.

"I will accept that. He looks like the best fighter of this group at a glance." Jungkook said shrugging his shoulders.

"I want the eldest for my ranks." Baekhyun quickly follows up.

"What is your reason for this decision?" Kai replies.

"I think we will get along." Baekhyun smiles.

"That's not the point of this..." Haechan says shaking his head with his fingers rubbing his temples.

"Fair enough, then I want the Jake kid." Taehyung added.

"Okay I'll take the super pretty one. He reminds me of me, so we must be destined to pair." Jimin says. 

"Every time your mouth moves, it hurts." Jungkook responds to Jimin.

"Every time I look at you, my face hurts, but you don't hear me complaining all of the time." Jimin says sticking his tongue out at the commander.

"Well, I think that matter is settled then! See you guys' next meeting, I must hurry to the queen." Haechan says smiling getting up from his chair.

"Hold it, we still got the youngest." Kai responds.

"Dammit. Who wants him, no way he's coming with me." Jungkook says annoyed.

"Not me either." V replies.

"Neither I." Baekhyun responds.

"I don't think he's a good match for me either." Kai politely adds.

"I think the queen only wants me with Sunghoon so I can't help you all either." Haechan says.

"I guess I'll take him. I don't think he's a good match for me either though. Maybe we can switch him around later." Jimin replies.

"That concludes it! Bye!" Haechan says jumping out of his chair practically running out of the room.

"He could at least try to hide his excitement." Jimin says laughing.

"The boy is crazy about her highness. Anytime she summons him to her room, he just can't hold it in." V says chuckling.

"Considering it's an everyday occurrence you would think he'd grow used to it." Kai says shaking his head.

"I don't understand why it's him the most." Jungkook says rolling his eyes.

"Your jealousy is showing boys." Baekhyun announces to the group.

"Like you're not." V interjects.

"Never said I wasn't." Baekhyun replies.

"Well on that note let's dismiss for the day. I am sure we all have many matters to attend to.  Grab your assigned princes and make sure everyone gets them all their basic necessities and sets them up with a room. Also, since Count Haechan has matters with the queen, I will take care of Sunghoon as well tonight." Kai says ending the council meeting.
