"That's the last time we saw you, before the fight."
"What fight? What do you mean?"
Evelyn didn't answer. She looked at the ground, she seemed sad.
Sydney walked into the barn with 3 cups of water. He came back from the other side of the barn so he heard what the girls were saying. He placed down a square plate with 3 cups of water and picked up 2. Handing one to Nimona. "I don't think Evelyn wants to talk about that right now, Or me. We'll tell you eventually about all the details, but we're only ready to tell you about a few smaller ones. Like why you don't remember us. It may sound weird but we're actually your relatives, Ya know, siblings. You probably don't remember mo-."
Sydney was cut of by what seemed to be the splashed of a black liquid. But it disappeared into the shadows of a hay stack. But Nimona was not ready for that.
She shifted to a cat and hid behind a few beat up boxes. She was obviously startled. And to her surprise, the girl walked over to the boxes and held out her hand as if to attract an actual cat. Nimona was not used to this action from another human, Or anything for that matter. She came into a the light of the barn and came towards the girl, Who had nothing but a warm smile on her face. Nimona sniffed and rubbed her hand against the girls hand. the girl scratched under Nimona's chin.
It felt amazing. It was the affection only Gloreth ever gave her. Only Gloreth would ever pet the animal-like head of Nimona. And the feeling was back, but it felt better. because even after betrayed, she felt a sense of trust and love. Like she wasn't going to be betrayed.
Because who would hurt their own kind?
An emotion that whenever Nimona felt, it was stronger than any other emotion she felt.
