a snap could be heard, echoing throughout the scene, and izuku could see a mix of blood red whisps and emerald stars before it all faded to black. . .

Izuku woke up suddenly, gripping his blanket as he reached up to touch his throat, feeling where his soulmate had touched him, 'he didn't. . . Tighten his grip?'

Moments later, the door to the enchanted room opened, revealing queen inko, izuku took note of the gold tea cup in the queen's gloved hands, she began walking over to her son, who sat up slowly, still tired

Inko handed izuku the cup, but he didn't drink the contents just yet, knowing what would happen if he didn't wait for his mothers permission

Queen inko was known for her temper, she had to be in control of every little detail or there would be consequences, especially when it came to prince izuku, she always needed anything that surrounded him, to be in her image

Of course, izuku had nothing against this, he hates making decisions, or planning events, the only thing his mother did that caused him discomfort was when she shamed her sons looks and weight, and made him eat less, and the food would be stale or disgusting, but anytime he talked against this, he was punished

The thought of the punishment caused izuku to shiver, slightly rattling the tea cup, queen inko noticed this and told izuku to drink the tea, he still hesitated on taking a sip, but did so anyways, he didn't drink much, only a small sip

As izuku continued to drink his tea, inko talked, tilting her head up but keeping her gaze low, causing her to tower over him, "i heard you weren't eating, do you insist on embarrassing me?"

Izuku placed the tea down as he bowed his head and clasped the back of his neck, which was a known custom to the emerald kingdom, it was a way for apologizing, of course not many people use this custom anymore, as it was established by the old king

"Get up, you look pathetic groveling" inko sneered, waving away his apology, it was an insult on traditions but izuku knew better and didn't say anything, using the excuse that queen inko wasn't born and raised in the emerald kingdom so she ignored the kingdoms customs

Izuku sat back up, picking the tea cup up again as he continued to look down

"now then, about prince bakugo, I think we can still make this alliance work, you can act scared and beg him to marry you, even if you're truly incompetent, he loves you enough so he'll gladly take you as a bride"

As inko talked, izuku looked up at her in shock, trying to make sense of what the queen was saying

"mother. . . I can't marry kacchan. . ."
