A couple of months have passed since that magical moment you shared with Gaster.

Now that everything has more or less turned back to normal, he finally had more time for you.

The Core's construction was nearly finished, and the most important buildings and facilities were almost fully connected to this new energy source.

There were still more plans made on how to expand the supply system and spread it across the entire Underground but with everyone being satisfied with the current state of everything, Gaster decided to put those plans aside and work on his laboratory.

Many constructions that were just mere sketches on paper, turned into reality and he was convinced that his inventions could compete with the ones that he read about in all the scientific books he collected like crazy.

Some of these were dedicated to you, or well, to research your current condition.

You were hooked up to one of the machines at the moment, shivering slightly as you only had a gown covering your body as Gaster checked all of the monitors and information thoroughly.

You looked around the room as you had nothing else to do and Gaster strictly forbid you to move.

You looked at the posters and graphics that were hung up neatly in his lab and raised a brow as you caught a glimpse of a human skeleton on one of them: "Hey, G. Tell me, what do you think about the fact that humans have skeletons inside of them while literally being a skeleton yourself?" He did not answer and mumbled to himself, deep in thought.

You huffed in frustration and looked up on the ceiling.

Gaster left the monitor and quickly went to one of his bookshelves, selecting a couple of them and flicking through the pages.

The gust of wind his quick movement left behind, caused you to shiver once again.

He returned to you as he finished his quick read up and disconnected you from the machine.

Relieved, you stepped away and stretched a little.

Gaster's shuffling drew your attention onto him instead and you watched him take off his lab coat.

He shyly handed it to you and signed with his magic hands 'I am sorry. I should have realized sooner how cold it must be for you in here. But it is just a little longer until we are done. Have this meanwhile to keep you warm.'

It was surprisingly cold in the lab, despite being literally built between lava and volcanoes. He must have some kind of device that can make the temperature in here as cold as in the snowy part of the Underground.

You gratefully took his lab coat and put it on. It was slightly too big for you but that at least gave you the opportunity to hide your cold hands in the sleeves and bury your face in its collar.

His pleasant and calming scent of freshly brewed coffee and a hint of disinfectant and chemicals filled your nostrils and you felt yourself relax.

Yes, coffee. His absolute favorite drink. He suddenly showed up with it one day, a mug of this strange black-ish liquid in his hand. He said it helped him focus and he can stay up longer thanks to it.

He let you try it once, after you begged him multiple times, but you couldn't stand the bitter taste.
Maybe this bitterness didn't affect him as much as heat and cold does since he was a skeleton, but you rather quickly decided that he can keep that stuff to himself, and he wouldn't have to share it with you anymore.

Gaster tapped your shoulder: 'I found out that your cells in your body do not show any sign of decomposition or aging so you should be alright. And healthy.' You nodded.
