English wasn't Fernando's first language. It'd never be. But, that didn't stop Fernando from being talented in the subject.

Immediately after the strange interaction with Mason storming off, seeming upset, Fernando headed to his English class. He felt more alone than usual after Mason had left him for unknown reasons.

Well, technically he didn't leave him. He was just being overdramatic and missing the one close friend he'd made so far. He hoped one of his newly made friends would be in this class, at least. He never liked being alone, that was also an issue.

Rather than finding one of his new friends in his class, he spotted a familiar face in the crowd. He recognized that damn sun-kissed skin and intimidating aura of his. It was none other than Angelo, but with a dark red beanie over his head, trying to hide the horrific buzzcut underneath. He grinned at the thought.

Maybe he didn't have any friends in this class, but he had the opportunity to make a new one.

Angelo was sitting in the middle of the room, not near any window or wall, but right smack down in the middle. As Fernando approached the intimidating boy, he wondered why Angelo was in this class to begin with. He certainly seemed older than a freshman in high school, he looked like he could be a whole senior with how mature and menacing he looked. Fernando took a seat beside him as their classmates looked on in disbelief, Apparently, nobody had wanted to sit beside Angelo for some odd reason. An odd reason he'd hear about later.

Angelo was laid back in his seat, not sparing Fernando a glance until he heard the whispers of their peers commenting on the strange curly-headed boy sitting beside Angelo. He breathed out a sigh and spoke up, "Pequeno, why would you sit beside me?" Somehow, he'd already known that it was Fernando who had sat beside him and not some other strange curly-headed boy he hadn't heard about.

Fernando gave Angelo a sheepish grin and leaned in to talk with him better, "Well, you're the only person I know in this class. I'd rather sit beside you–even though you're mad scary and all, than some stranger I don't care to know the name of. You get me, right?" He poked Angelo to get his attention since he seemed to be staring off into nothing. This rewarded him an ice-cold glare.

If eyes could kill, Fernando would be six feet under.

Angelo relaxed his cold glare and crossed his arms sternly, "Yeah, I get you, pequeno. It's just that... Have you heard the rumors about me?" He inquired with a serious expression. Fernando was unaware of these so-called rumors and shook his head in response, "No, I haven't heard anything about you...Should I have?"

"No, no. It's good that you haven't heard about the rumors. Keep it that way." Angelo sighed and leaned back in his chair as the bell rang. Fernando looked over at Angelo, studying his dark and defined features. He looked older than a freshman should look, and so his curiosity got the best of him, "Are you really a freshman? You don't look like one."

"Never said I was a freshman, pequeno." Angelo kept his eyes on the front of the classroom, "I'm a junior. I've just failed this class every year I've taken it. Never cared to pass it, English's stupid. I know English already, why do I need to take a whole class on it? I've dealt with enough English in my life, I might as well just speak Spanish for the rest of my life."

Fernando raised his eyebrows curiously, leaning in even more to hear Angelo better, "So, what I'm hearing here, is that you're bilingual and Spanish is your mother tongue? I think you just got even more interesting, Gigante." He wiggled his eyebrows as he leaned in even closer, wanting to know more about this strange and mysterious boy seated beside him. Angelo was a mystery to Fernando, and Fernando liked solving mysteries for the fun of it. He would crack Angelo's shell in no time, just as he had thought he had done with Mason.
