They arrived at Hogwarts in mid-January. Luna, Neville, Ginny, Harry and Hermione.
The Thestrals left them near Hagrid's hut, where they immediately went into the forest.
It was late in the evening and pitch dark. The crescent moon shone large and magnificent over Hogwarts. Everything was silent, only shadowy figures could be recognised at the brightly lit windows.
Hermione pushed open the double doors almost reverently. The rusty iron squeaked. She put a finger to her lips and motioned for the others to be quiet.
"We'll sneak into the dormitories," she whispered, walking towards the castle. The wet gravel crunched under her footsteps.
Unfortunately, the door was closed. "Alohomora!" whispered Hermione, there was a brief clatter, but the door remained locked. Somewhere in the castle, an owl hooted.
"Alohomora Extreme!" whispered Hermione impatiently and the lock unlocked. "You're a genius," Harry whispered as he stepped into the large building. Hermione smiled.
They scurried quietly along the corridors. "This is the first time I've ever wished for the Gryffindor common room on the first floor," Neville said, louder than he intended."Hold the edge!" hissed Hermione. "One more sound and I'll knot your wand!""Quiet, you lot!" hissed Ginny, "we have a problem!"
Oh yes, they did. The drifters and Ron were standing in the corridor. "I couldn't stop them," Ron whispered, "they saw you at the window."
Remus didn't seem too happy with the situation either, as he looked apologetically at Hermione.
"Sooo, where have you been?" said James loudly.
"Shut up, Potter," Luna hissed, which threw him rather off track. No, this wasn't the dreamy girl. This was a heroine. "We just have to beat You-Know-Who, so you can let us through. And Black," Luna turned to Sirius, "isn't it becoming clear that we're not Death Eaters?""Defeat you-know-who?" stuttered James. "His name is Voldemort," Harry said coldly and James flinched at the name. "VOLDEMORT!" Harry shouted in his face.
"Oh, we're allowed to say his name again, I always forget. The curse on his name was fierce. You were once caught and tortured because of that word, weren't you?""Shhht!" Hermione hissed.
"What did you actually do when you were away?" Remus asked."Oh, what you always do, don't you?" Ginny mocked, "nearly got hit by a hut, broke into Malfoy Manor, did the same at Gringotts, got attacked by an army of Inferi... Don't you do that?""It was you? The Daily Prophet always reports with big headlines: "Successful break-in in high-security dungeon", "Hut collapses" and "Strange occurrences since November: students disappear without a trace."
"I don't care," Harry said indifferently and marched up behind Hermione. "Voldemort won't be stopped by the Daily Prophet. Ministry, pah. All bottles."
