God the day was going so well. Me and Alyssa went out to a cute cafe near my apartment block. We got a hot chocolate each and gossiped like school girl.
Were arrived at the ice rink and walked up to the entrance. I pulled at the handle bu it didn't move. I pushed the handle. Again nothing.
I look higher up on the door and see a sign hung up from the inside.
Closed for repairs
Apologies
You've got to be fucking kidding me.
"It's closed Al."
"What do you mean? I booked it specifically for this day?"
"Well shit. That was a waste. Ask for a refund once they open back up."
"Mhm. Fucks sake that'd so pissy."
"Yup. What do we do know?"
"Well.. You know how behind me and Josh's house there's a lake? It's frozen, we could skate there?"
"Good idea. Should we go there now?"
"Yeah, why not. We can watch a movie after."
"I'll call the taxi."
I take out my phone and dial an Uber.
"Hello? Can I an Uber to-"

The Uber pulled up in front of Alyssa and Josh's mansion. Well. It's not a mansion but it's definitely big as hell.
I take out some cash and quickly count it, handing it to the driver, paying an extra tenner as a tip.
Alyssa is already climbing out of the car with her stuff. I get out on my side and say goodbye to the driver as he drove off.
Not gonna lie the driver was a bit pissy, had an attitude for everything. Reminds me of a school priest I had in secondary school. So pissy and sarcastic for what? He's meant to be a priest.
I swing my black messenger bag over my shoulder and start walking behind Alyssa to her house.
She holds the door open for me and I close it behind myself as I enter. She leads me through and we looks outside of her backyard windows.
She sighs.
"I think we should let the lake frost up a bit more, it's not very stable. You can even see the cracks."
"I can wait. We pretty much have al day."
"What should we do in the meantime?"
"Re-watch Sam and Colby vids, make watche some of their old vines."
"Great idea."
"I know girlie."

It has been around an hour and we're finishing watching old Sam and Colby vine, fuck I miss them so bad.
Alyssa look out of her room window.
"I think it's safe now. Come on, let's go get our skates on."
Alyssa walks out of her door and I push myself up from her heaven soft bed. Might need to steal it one day to be completely honest.
I quickly go down the stairs and already find Alyssa pulling her ice skates on.
I sit next to her on her couch and tug over my newly clean white ice skates. I pull them up and tie the laces together.
We stand up and walk as best we can down to the lake.
I take the first step and it's pretty decent. I skate along the ice smoothly.
Fuck I missed doing this.
I look back to see Alyssa skating towards me. I stretch out my hand to help her stop as she goes past me. She takes my hand and we skate along the ice together.
We spend a few minutes just skating around aimlessly. Alyssa goes to take a small break and get a drink.
I, out of curiosity, went along the think lake, wanting to see how far this snow coated ice path will go.
I skate down a but further when I heard Alyssa in the distance.
"Don't go too far Jules. It's dangerous, the ice will be thinner."
"I will be Al."
As soon as I reply, I turn to skate a small bit further.
Crack.
I fall through the ice, the good sensation drowning me and overwhelming me all at once. The cold hel investing my throat and sending a sharp pain to my lungs..
