Jackets & Texts
♡ Hannah ♡
. . .Teddy: Yo, I had fun the other night , wanna go out on a date?
I stare down at my phone screen, unsure of what to type. It's Monday- two days after Teddy - and I's apparent date and even though I've had his snapchat since Friday evening- we haven't texted at all.
I fix my uniform in front of my full body mirror before instinctively reaching up and caressing my lips with my finger- this happens a lot whenever I think of Amanda and how close she was to me Friday afternoon- how we almost kissed and how soft her finger felt against my skin.
My breath hitches- just as it did Friday.
"Hannie come on we're gonna be late" Jasper says, hopping into my room. Jasper goes to an entirely different school than me so unlike me- he was wearing casual clothing- a Bluey t-shirt with jeans and his wavy blonde hair looking as if he'd ran the brush through it only one time.
I turn around to face him, forgetting all about Amanda for a minute and focusing on my little brother.
"Oh thanks for reminding me bud, I would've totally made us late!" I say kindly.
With Jasper, you have to act like you don't know things you already knew for his own good.
Jasper's smile grew more proud, "you're welcome!" He says cheerfully.
"Really" I smile, I reached over and grabbed my bag before leaving the comfort of my bedroom at Mom's house.
I make sure to pet Comet before Jasper and I exit the house- then my walk to school starts.
I try my hardest to forget about everything as I take my little brother's small, soft hands into my own, "now, you excited to see Tom?" I ask- because Jasper's been talking about Tom a lot since the first of November and if I didn't know any better- I'd say he sounds like younger me with my first crush...
But I can't say that because it sounds a little too much like I'm assuming my little brother's sexuality- and again, I don't want to do that.
"No" Jasper replies- but I looked down to see him smiling and trotting along the light concrete sidewalk.
"Are you excited to see you boy-friend?" Jasper teases with a wide mouthed smile.
"He's not my boyfriend and how do you know about that?" I question.
"I heard you and that girl on the phone when you came back home Friday".
I smile, remembering the small chat I'd had with Amanda that day because she wanted me to call her when I got inside the house.
I haven't talked to her since...
"Oh yeah, what else did you hear?" I ask.
"Her saying you have his jacket" yep, the gross- blunt smelling, axe spray fumed jacket I had to beg him for.
See, what happened was, I got cold halfway through the movie and hinted at this by nuzzling him but he just rubbed my thigh which- ew- his touch made me dryer than a sandpaper- when that didn't work I whispered to him and begged for his jacket after a dew begs he gave it to me.
