Many of my memories are of all the painful moments that we went through
But despite it all, we made it this far, without a doubt of what you could do
I know you can't quite predict what will happen to us all in the future
But you had my back, whatever I lacked, you were always right behind to give the push I need

Levi's POV:
The man and I walked out into the outside world, orange with sunset. I didn't dare hold his hand and he didn't offer.
In her stories, my mother would always tell me about the sun. She didn't have a large vocabulary and didn't have an education but each description was better than a poet's.
At that time, the sun seemed to be blushed and lowering itself from my eyes. No words were spoken to break the silence and the world froze with every step.
"When did she die?" I lowered my head. Why did he have to break the peace? However, he returned to his slow, drooping pace and just continued towards an unknown location.

He sat down in the pub and slid loaves of bread towards me. My vision slumped onto the soft, fluffy miracle and saliva gathered under my tongue. Then it devoured the bread I was stuffing in my mouth.
When I was in the nightmare, my starvation hadn't been as intense as when the dream ended. Hunger meant a change in the flow of darkness. And when I saw the sun I knew there was hope, hope of living...
Such a thing can only come from change
That day Kenny handed me a knife. He told me that in order to live in this world, you have to kill or be killed. With those words I remembered the prince-story. The only way to save the princess and himself he had to kill the enemy. If she had told me the same story over and over, then I had to follow that advice.
And so I did. Each day brought a new enemy, someone I needed to defeat. And with each battle life had more meaning. No more waiting in a morbid cell. I was out, under the sun, giving myself purpose.
During every fight an unchanging figure would watch. Neither awe nor respect nor irritation were in his eyes. His eyes were emotionless and stable. Then one day his hat-covered eyes stopped watching.
On that day the air smelled like dusty blood and the sky looked the same. An older man with a repugnant face began to smirk at me and glared down into my fiery eyes. I jumped at his sweaty body at threw a hook puch to his jaw.
Townspeople gathered and roared for me. Some young boys would scream and throws their arms in the air. Girls would usually turn away in disgust and fade away. The only one without an expression was Kenny. And then he left.
I stomped the man's head to the floor and squeezed through the crowd. I only searched a block or two until settling on the floor. Just like with my mother I didn't cry. I just sat in the corner and shortly mourned the loss of the man I thought would always be there.

"I heard they're recruiting scouts later this year..."
"The fools. They all go fighting the titans without a thought in their minds..."
"But the smart ones sure are brave... So many of them die though..."
When in a fight, I always dealt with the most powerful enemy first. That's why I joined the Scouts.

I'm planning on giving this story 18 chapters with 1 chapter (ideally in a perfect world) being released each day. Hope you love it!
