Her Innocence, His Obsession

Chapter 1

Diya had just finished her morning prayers before she was on her way to her first day of college (according to her parents) and last year of med school (in reality, unknown to everyone). Her parents wanted her to do Engineering whereas she wanted to study medicine and help the people in her local community. No one knew of the rare gift she possesses in being able to truly understand her patients and diagnose their issues in minutes after just a few simple questions without difficulty. Impressed by her rare skills, she was offered a prestigious position at a nearby hospital, where she has been interning part-time after school for the past 2 years of her life. At only the age of 18, she had more experience than any experienced professionals in the med field. 

Just as she was about to leave the house, she heard the sound of pans clattering and screaming. She started shaking uncontrollably as she gets scared at the sound of suddenly large sounds and turned back to look at what the fight was about this time. Her father became angry because her mother didn't cook the breakfast long enough and it was all raw. He saw her at the door way and started screaming uncontrollably at her as well since she was just standing there idly looking at them. He yelled how useless everyone except for him in the house was and how he has to pay for everything, which was not true. In fact, Diya has been paying for her own school fees and is already paying and ready to pay for her own college tuition thanks to the money she earns from her internship. She never asked him for anything in terms of her education, nor did she beg him to buy anything for her ever since she could remember. 

Her childhood was pretty traumatizing, as she knew her family never had enough money to afford her luxuries that some of her other peers could afford. She decided to forego even the most basic necessities such as getting a new desk where she can sit on or new outfits for the first day of school or formal events at her school. Before her father misdirects his anger at her, she decided to leave the place, but after some more yelling, she was forced to come back and eat her breakfast which she no longer seemed to have an appetite for at all. 

"He Krishna, please help on my first day of the last year of college" she prayed to him in her mind, as she finally made her way out of the door and made a silent prayer hoping this will be the last year she will be at home and that the next year she can hopefully rent her own apartment and lead a more independent, peaceful lifestyle.

Diya made her way to the bus stop and thus began a new chapter of her life. Unknown to her, a black Mercedes car followed her every step of the way, making sure she safely got on the bus to college.
