At Akrura's place,
"Balaram, Krishna is up to something for sure!", said Upadevaka, after they had rested and eaten, in their room, relaxing.
"Up to something? What? Why do you think so?", asked Balaram, curiously.
"He looked happy and excited when he came inside", said Devaka, winking at Upadevaka and Balaram.
"You mean he might have done it already or he would do it today?", asked Balaram, in excitement.
"I think he will do it today", both the brothers echoed simultaneously, chuckling.
"And what will I be doing today?", asked Krishna, wondering why they were so excited.
All three of them looked at each other, winked, simultaneously cleared their throats and in one voice, said, "You will be confessing your love for Shree today, rather tonight!", and burst out into laughter.
Krishna immediately turned red in embarrassment.
Have I become so bad at hiding my emotions?", he wondered.
"We just hope that when you come back, there is a positive response with you", they said, fondly engulfing Krishna into a group hug, which Krishna fondly returned. Krishna felt so grateful to have had friends like Devaka and Upadevaka and got reminded of Madhumangal and Shreedhama, back in Vrindavan. He made up his mind to treat them as friends, even after becoming the crown prince of Mathura.
At Jayant's house,
"Sunanda, are all the preparations over? Have you made your special Kheer that Prince Rukmi absolutely adores?", asked Jayant, running around the house to check if everything was maintained well. He had received a message that Prince Rukmi would arrive anytime.
"Yes Arya! All the food is ready. I have made Kheer, Puri, mixed vegetable, Dal, rice and buttermilk.", Sunanda called out from the kitchen.
"Kanika! Have you decorated the entrance of the house?", asked Jayant.
"Yes Aavuttah! I have made a colourful Rangoli, and decorated the door with a Toranam. The entrance is ready and I have also made sure to clean the house before I started working on that.", came the reply.
"Shree, are you ready?", Jayant asked.
"Yes Aavuttah!", she said, coming down the stairs. She looked as beautiful as Mahalakshmi, as she had prepared herself for the arrival of the prince of her land. Dressed in an orange Silk Nauvari, with simple gold and pearl jewellery, she looked breath-taking.
"Oh good! Everything is perfect now!", exclaimed Jayant, sighing in relief.
He did not want anything missing in welcoming the prince of Vidarbha. Sunanda and Kanika were also in their best attire that evening, dressed as their normally did when they were in Vidarbha, in flamboyant Nauvaris. Jayant was also very grandly dressed, in a silk Dhoti and Angavastra. Everything was done, and they were just awaiting the arrival of their prince.
And they heard horsed neigh loudly across the neighbourhood. A chariot pulled right outside their house. With this noise, Krishna, Balaram, Devaka and Upadevaka came out of their houses to see who had arrived. From the chariot came out Prince Rukmi, and he looked as handsome as the moon. He was wondering which was the house he had to visit. Just then, Jayant, Sunanda and Kanika came out to receive him. The other four were surprised at the way they had all dressed up.
