Lord Glozelle Amarazin

Erendehill, 2313

There were many times where he had to stop and think on everything that had happened. How so much could have changed in such a short time span. How much someone would be willing to stoop to in order to remain in a position of power or to push themselves into a much higher position than they already held. Today was no exception as he walked around Erendehill. The castle finally completed after nearing nine years of rigorous construction. Normally, castles took decades to build, Telmarison had taken three decades alone to build. Not anymore though, not with the sheer amount of help there was and being able to utilise personal strengths to build the country into a position only a mad man would dare attack.

It was the second completion in the last ten years, the other being Westport right on the northernmost border of Old Telmar. Where his people had come from a little more than three hundred years prior in the year 1998 since the world began. It seemed like such a long time ago, yet for the Dowager Monarch's (even if he would never call them such aloud- it was what they were) had been around for almost one thousand years before that. It baffled him and many others of the disparity of time between where the Pevensie's had come from and their own world, yet there was no other explanation for it. Magic may have returned since they had worked to overthrow the Usurper Miraz to instil King Caspian to the throne that was rightfully his, but it still stunned many.

To say such a thing had caused an uproar was an understatement. He'd suspected what had happened but it had never officially been confirmed until Caspian had revealed everything. Yet Glozelle did not know that Miraz had murdered his brother, even if it was incredibly obvious in hindsight. He'd been named General a couple of years after the assassination of King Caspian IX, and hardly anyone spoke about him because to them once a person had died, that was it. There was no need dwelling on the past as there was only the future.

Erendehill was located just north west of Telmarison and had been built for one sole purpose, as a reward for not striking the killing blow on the young King who at the time was only a Prince on the battlefield. When he had been called into a private council with all five monarchs, he had wholly expected he would be banished for supporting the Usurper. Yet he hadn't. King Caspian sitting on a chair that was a few inches taller than the other four in the room around a large table to signify his station as the Acting Monarch, the High King and High Queen on the chairs to either side of him, then the remaining King and Queen on either side of their siblings.

"You are likely wondering why we have summoned you into this room, General."

He was questioning it, pressing his lips together because he knew that he would have to be asked directly to answer as per custom which had not yet happened. Watching as Caspian leaned back and straightened himself out before fixing a stare so intense his way it took everything in him not to shuffle.

"On the battlefield, you opted to forego your orders and not strike myself down. Even if you had the perfect opening as I was disarmed a few moments prior. Yet you also were a part of the group my uncle sent to assassinate me in my bed."

Glozelle grimaced at the reminder. He'd not wanted to carry out the order, yet a General was sworn to always obey their commander and his commander was the King Regent of Narnia. He'd never spoken the words aloud, but he had been incredibly relieved to find an empty bed after they had fired their arrows.

"A debt was owed and the debt was paid, General."

The youngest King spoke now. Facing King Edmund who he only saw as a boy of fifteen still. Yet there was something there, in his eyes. Wisdom no one of such an age should have. Sitting in a similar pose to King Caspian but there was no denying he done so with much more confidence. He'd done this before, he knew, and it was as clear as a hot summer day in that very moment.
