I don't know what I expected, but so far this isn't it. We have been walking down a long hallway for a while now. There's multiple doors on the side, kind of like a hotel hallway, but all the doors are locked. Seth tried them all. We have quite litteraly been walking for hours, I'm getting tired. I sigh, and try one of the upcoming doors. Just as I'm about to touch the handle, I hear a click behind me. I spin around fast, only to discover Seth smirking at me. He opened one of those doors. He lets out a small laugh, and then says, "I hope your not to tired, love. We have a long way to go." Love? Did that bitch really just call me that? I mean it sounded hot but I hate him. And he hates me, it dosent mean anything. I shake my head at him and he moves out from in front of the door revealing a very long, steep set of stairs. I pout, and he laughs again.
I step in front of him and start making my way down the stairs as I hear him close the door behind us. It's not necessarily dark, there's candle holders on the wall with lit candles in them. It's only light enough to see the step ahead of you. There a soft smell of something that I can hardly describe, but it's what I would say fresh rain smells like. I guess that's reasonable considering the walls are damp. Why are they damp? I wish I knew. I step down onto one of the last steps, and scream. There's a huge fucking snake. Like a big one. I back up, forgetting Seth was behind me and automatically collide with him. He pushes me away, back towards the snake, and I cry out. He pulls me back towards him. "Relax, it's just a snake. It's not going to hurt us, because if you would take the time to notice, it's already dead you dumbass." He shakes his head at me and steps in front, kicking the snake. It's not my fault, I thought it was alive. It didn't look dead. I hesitate, but he grabs my hand and pulls me down the last set of stairs. How nice of him. "You really know how to treat a girl." I say opening the door ahead of us and stepping through. He chuckles, "I know how to treat a girl, Victoria. I mean, come on, I knew how to treat Scarlett right. Didn't I?" Fuck. I forgot he dated Scarlett. And he did treat her right, she just dumped him after finding out what he does to me. "That's not exactly my point." I say back. I didn't know what else to say. My point was that he didn't treat me right, but what did I expect? He's always bullied me so him being nice to me is just a dream. He looks at me, smiles, and brushes the hair out of my face.
I turn my head from him and finally look around the room that I honestly forgot I was in. There's a bunch of knives, another door decorated with a symbol of what looks to be a lion. It's very beautiful, in all honesty. Gold with red hints, a very detailed carving of a lion in metal. There's not even a single speck of rust. But moving on, there's also a single note on the wall. It reads, "Upon the door, a beast is waiting. Take a knife, and fight for your life." You know, you'd expect some weird poem full of clues that you would have to figure out, but apperantly not. I don't think the mastermind can create poems. "I think there's a lion that we have to kill." Seth says as he picks up a weird looking knife that I can't describe. I mean, it's kind of obvious that's what we have to do. He looks at me, looks at the knives, and back at me. "You know, maybe you should just let me kill it. Sit down and rest your precious self since you're so tired." I shrug at him. "That would be perfect." I reply as I walk past him and go to the door.
He's being serious, for once. He follows me quickly with one of the knives in his hand. I open the door, he steps in and stops immediately. "What?" I asked quickly full of fear. "There's a lion." He laughs before waking forward. What is this man on? Of course there's a lion. I follow behind him, hanging back as I watch him approach the lion. It looks weak, it already has multiple knife gashes in it. It's not going to take him much to kill it. It's not even fighting back. It lays down, eyeing him carefully. "Be careful, please." I plead as he approaches if, kneeling down in front of it. "Aww" he replies, "You care for me! That's so sweet." He says in a mocking tone before he brings his knife down and cutting the lions head off in one clean cut. Not quite the fight I was hoping to watch, I'm very disappointed. He turns around, laying the knife down and walking up to me. He bends over and places his hands on my shoulders before leaning in and kissing me on the head. Did he actually just do that? I look at him, lost for words. He lets out a soft laugh, before meeting my eyes. "I'm glad you care for me. When this is all over maybe I can really show you just how I treat women." He winks, and walks away. He did not just do that. Have I passed out or something? I have to be dreaming this. I stand there, staring at him in shock. He turns around and holds up a key. "It had this around its neck, it's the key to the next trial. Let's go Angel, I'd like to get out of here as fast as possible." I look around, finding the door the key goes to. I didn't even notice it. And, did he just call me Angel? All of the sudden he's being so...different. I don't like him, I'm not going to become another one of his little games. I fall into step behind him as we step into the second trial.
